Nights of the Dead Community Parties

Show off with your costume creations, partake in a variety of unique drinks, and meet new players!</p> <p>The scheduled party slots are listed below:</p><ul><li>Thursday, October 27 12:00 pm PST Valor</li><li>Thursday, October 27 12:00 pm PST Storms</li><li>Friday, October 28 8:00 am PST Sebilis</li><li>Friday, October 28 12:00 pm PST Splitpaw</li><li>Friday, October 28 3:30 pm PST Everfrost</li><li>Friday, October 28 4:00 pm PST Antonia Bayle</li><li>Friday, October 28 4:30 pm PST Crushbone</li><li>Friday, October 28 5:00 pm PST Freeport</li></ul> <p>When it's time for the party to start, we'll drop a portal near the carpet at the docks in Sinking Sands. Just look for the glowing spot, click, and you'll be ported right to the Community Lounge.</p> <p>Can't make the party time slots? Don't fret! We'll also be opening up portals for the Community Lounge on all servers. On Storms, Valor and Sebilis, you'll find a portal on the day of your party. For the US, UK and Extended servers, we'll open portals shortly after 10:00 am PDT, but it could take up to two hours for us to open up all of the portals. You'll be able to have your own parties or just pick up the party favors from the vendors! It will take us approximately two hours to decorate and set up portals on each server.</p>

<p>One year, when Kiara was Community Manager,  they did community parties on every server.  Kiara, Ashlanne, Naylie, Amnerys (and probably other CM's) ran themselves ragged running 20-odd parties over a couple weeks!  Since then they've tended to have them on Extended, one EU server, one PvP server, and Test Copy so everyone has the chance to come. </p><p>So yay, to seeing some back on main live servers!</p>

<p>well if you aren't on one of the privilaged servers, then the community party is a complete waste of time. there's nothing in the zone at all, no merchant selling halloween themed things, no special food or drink that does even the illusion trick the candy dish candies do, the only clickys that house items/useable items outside the zone are the visitor's scroll, fireworks, and if you want to sit and fish long enough, a coffee mug.</p>

So far I've seen big, small, duck, Sinking Sands type skeleton, monster chest, octopus, halfling....</p><p>You could also use the zone to throw together your own community get together <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

Unfortunately he is not visable in Butcherblock's lounge, though his text shows in chat when you walk in the room with the beds. I'm hanging out in there in hopes a successful petition fixes it, but time is ticking.</p>

<p>there wasn't anything of the sort in Oasis. no merchant text or anything at all. at least in Brell day there was the drinks you could stack up that worked outside the lounge and the hats. everything I saw on the merchants int he zones are 'no zone'.</p><p>now this may be an issue on Oasis, but I bet it's probably a lot more common. if there's nothing there, as in, nothing that someone can come buy or get that can leave the zone, and no obvious gm/guide/dev in the lounge, most people zone in, walk three steps from the door, and zone right back out again.</p>

<p>The merchant is also disappointingly invisible and unfindable on Freeport, or at least was when I logged out of there at around 7:00 pm mountain time. His text showed up tantalizingly though.</p>

<p>I think it was lame too, Crushbone had the same problem with the merchant, so it was pretty much just 8 hours of running around while people throw stuff at you, thinking this is why they decided to put in a Double Station Cash the day after.</p>

<p>I just wanted to let you all know that I submitted a numerous amount of petitions trying to get the merchant problem addressed on Everfrost and finally a GM logged on in game....he explained to me that the merchant we continually hear in the community lounge is in fact meant ONLY for guides and it was NOT a bug....and that only guides can see it...why it allows the merchant to say stuff in chat where we can see it but not allow us to interact with him is beyond me...but I wanted you all to know so you all didnt start pulling your hair out like I wanted to lol!  Happy Halloween everyone!</p>

<p>The parties for Crushbone and Freeport have been rescheduled to tomorrow, November 1, 2011 at 4:00 PM PST and 5:00 PM PST, respectfully. This is due to the power outage we had on Friday evening which interrupted the party on Crushbone and stopped us from having the party on Freeport at all.</p><p>To those of you on the U.S. servers that did not have Community parties, the next big party (currently set for sometime during Frostfell) will be on those servers that did not get a party for Nights of the Dead.</p><p>Thank you everyone who was able to attend!</p>
