ok so im working on bringing my aa up and have looked around and have seen diffrent things as far as AA lines or i find old old ones. so i know Elemental blast and soulburn are givens. should i also go for the last of the shadow and summoner trees? maybe just to the pet sac in shadow? (forget the name of the last one in summoner tree) but is it useful? i also have the magician and thuergist lines maxed out in the summoner tree should i drop them? <3 thuergists detonation or however you spell it. im not yet at 200 so cant hit the heroic tree fyi. any updated help would be much appreciated.

Here are you must-haves for a DPS build.

Summoner:

Theurgist's DetonationPerceptor's Bodyguard 10Aptitude of the Theurgist 8Cabalist's Aura 8Elemental Toxicity 2

Conjuror:

Blazing Avatar 2Elemental Unity 5Crystal Blast 5Fiery Annihilation 5Shattered Earth 5Earthquake 5Ice Storm 5Cure ElementalUnabateRunes of Geomancy 5Strength of the Elements 5Fury of the ElementsElemental Blast

Shadows:

Hearty Constitution 5Strike of the Mage 5Runic Protection 5BewildermentPet Weapon MasteryMinion's Constitution 5Minion's MarkBlaze of Ro 5Chilling Winds 5Magic MasteryBlazing Conjuration

Heroic:

Expertise 10Critical Genius 10Minion's Power 10Soulburn

AAs to avoid outright:

Summoner:

Unflinching Servant (Cripples the mage pet, doesn't work for AoE auto-attack, some AEs aren't blocked anyway, and reuse is too long to be practical)Animist's Evasion (unless you really, really, really have hate issues)Magician's Aptitude (Useless for Conjurors)Perceptor's Defense (see Unflinching Servant)

Conjuror:

Hydromancer (You will never summon this. Ever)Sacrifical Lamb (Sacrifice isn't even a good spell to cast, much less let tick the whole duration)

Shadows:

Shadow StepArcane BarrierRoot Mastery(those three should be an obvious duh)Focused Disciple (another duh)Ancient Calling (avoid at all costs)Offensive Onslaught (it's useless for the mage pet)Minion's Critical Strike (pet shares your crit chance, so this AA is useless once you can cap crit chance yourself)

Heroic:

none really, but there aren't that many good choices outside of the core AAs.

Anything I didn't list falls into the category of "it's nice to have, but not necessary".

This is my DPS spec.

The Summoner tree is really the only one where there is much debate. Some prefer the Teamwork line over Reanimate. I personally feel that the loss of DPS when my pet dies outweighs the minor increase to the group from Teamwork. Your mileage may vary.

well ive personally found that when im doing group dungeons if my pet gets 1 shotted it doesnt work.... or even if he doesnt and gets 2 shotted it still doesnt work..... so its a bit iffy to me for the aa points so reacast speed in conj tree> reanimate. i did use it till last night and glad i dropped it.

also after i respecced last night i took xalmats suggestions in the tree and somthing weird happened.... i didnt put points into neither pet heal increase and my heal hits my pet for a little more than half his hp..... which it didnt do before the aa respec.... anyone know maybe why?

Edit: also why bubble...... its kind of pointless imo 5

myself personally think im going to use This Spec once im 300/300 any suggestions about it would be cool but dont see any "lackluster" points in it

Also would it be losing anything if you went ahead and maxed out possess minion for the 40 int/stam?

It will make a big difference for your pet's aggro, even with only a couple points into it.

If all you are doing is grouping, Bubble will probably not be very useful to you. If you raid, you'll find it invaluable. I am a HM raider. My goal is to produce the maximum amount of DPS possible. As a raiding Conjuror, the biggest damage limitation you have is pet death. If your pet dies, your DPS is in the toilet.

Up until Reanimate was fixed, we used alternate methods to keep our pet alive. Stoneskins, Intervention, Bubble, etc. Now, with Reanimate, I simply ignore my pet from a "keep him alive" standpoint until Reanimate triggers. Then I fall back on the old methods while I wait out the recast, then go back to ignoring my pet. It's improved my DPS in an overall fashion. Nothing you can see on a per fight basis, but in a zonewide or more, I can see a definite increase.

Like I said, Reanimate versus Teamwork is the primary place you'll see Conjurors disagree. It's definitely possible to work without Reanimate, we all did it for years. I simply find it liberating.

Minion's Attention is a must IMO, especially when you want to use EB often. It's never the Conjuror who pulls aggro, it's the pet, every time.

My Conjy is just starting on the Heroic tree. She's my first Mage, Are you making a huge mistake by taking stat boost over Ability mod or vice versa? I will hit 90 today or tomorrow and have 219 AA including all the older endlines. Won't be raiding right away but want to group since I still have gear and AA to work on.

Anything other than that just adds onto or multiplies your base damage from there. The better your base, the more dmg you do. Before they removed the stat cap...the thinking on this might have been different I believe.
