I clicked my usual shrotcut on my desktop but instread of getting the new launcher, I got this:

Right after it loaded, the launcher icon on my destop changed for the usual White S against a dark background to the blue arror thingy you can see on my desktop.

I have made no changes to my system, no downloads or anything between having my usual lanuchpad run to this, whatever it is..I can't even see how to run eq2 with it....

Any thoughts? This happened one other time, but resolved itself ( as in i didn't nothing to make the icon change nor change back to normal)

From SOE-MOD-07 For future reference you shouldn't post your station name or length of password in images posted here.

So, how do I get the new launcher back and what files do I need to look for to maker sure this old launchpad (which by the way I don't think I ever used)....my usual way of launching the game was using a short cut of the EQ2.exe file. That was before I got the good, newest launcher....

I haven't used that .exe launcher since switching over to the new launchpad...the one in your link but when that old one came up yesterday I didn't know how use to get into the game. Will follow your link and reinstall.

Well, I gotta do something...I fixed it yesterday with the link you gave and played this AM, but now, reloading back into game it's gone back to the old launcher....of ocurse if I do this...isn't it just gonig to not error at ALL, since you feel the problem is my launcher is somehow becoming corrupt?

Actually it does, oddly the computer thinks EQ2 has been installed 3 times. But the shortcut that it complains about are all three the same shortcuts, and it's only on there once, so I don't udnerstand that...

I'd been procrastinating on trying to clear my system of the unwated launchpad but after havig to reinstall from the 1.75 one three or four times yesterday, I bit the bullet, backed up my packs and deleted my eq2 directory.

I ran the new launcher per your link, reinserted the packs directory and from that point on, I am unable to log in via the suported launcher (since last night). I either get a can not connect to log in server or I can get that far but it later errors saying it can not connect to game session, error 101. Both eq2 and extended.

In frustration, I returned to the old eq2.exe version of eq2 from a copy on an old drive. Immediately, upon running the eq2.exe (the old sentinel's fate version), it downloads a launchpad.exe file, which runs the 1.75 launcher. It seems to be downloaing that old launcher via the eq2.exe file. I am aware that the older version (the one with SF at the launching screen) isn't supported anymore, but I can't get in with the current launcher. Every time I use the eq2.exe file, it redownloads a copy of the 1.75 launcher.

Back to the original topic at hand

It would seem that every time I use the eq2.exe to launch the game..whihc I did in this case since launcher wasn't working...or to run a second copy of eq2 for loading up a second account alt or whatever, it re-downloads this 1.75 launcher. I udnerstand it isn't being supported anymore, but can the eq2.exe at least download the NEW launcher instead of the old one, then it won't overwrite my work....
