If the house started out with only 600 count, then 900 is proper with the expanders.

But you do have a point, it would be nice to see what the item count is of a home BEFORE it is purchased. Once more I feel that the item counts are too low for many places, especially the Prestige homes.
When I first saw the Estate was hitting SC I was ready to hit the buy button but after the tour I was less than impressed. I think the Haunted Mansion in Loping Plains and The Estate of Unrest just really set the bar nice and high.

Crags Estate is nice but honestly, it is overwhelming in size (as are others for a "home design", they are moe suited to zones, which is what they were inended to be). The difference with Estate of Unrest is the general size of the rooms and hall ways within the house and catacombs, they are proportionate to living space so while it is sprawling it can be done tastefully. The same is true with the haunted mansion though on a much smaller scale.

I think the Uncanny Estate is nice but simply fails to deliver on the expectation many of us are holding on to with anticipation of getting the Haunted Mansion and the hidden room in it as a Small/Medium home and The full estate of Unrest with catacombs, motes, sprwaling gardens and house with all its intricacies as a Massive Home.

What I truly hope is that we will see more custom home building opportunity with the new dungeon maker technology. The ability to collect all those maps (hopefully for a good majority of dungeons and zones if not all), good modular pieces to layout and such would be awesome. Once built you would get the option to publish as a dungeon complete with mobs and have the dungeon then evaluated and itemized OR published as a house (we should be able to connect them to various zones. For instance an entrance near Nek Castle if the house is built on the model of that map, etc). Hope the zone in locations are being taken into account for the dungeon maker and it wont be a hodge podge of weird portals like we have now for the prestige housing that is getting out of hand quickly.

The boon that would be for the decorating community...

Count me in with the people disappointed with the SC Uncanny Estate home. I was really hoping for a duplicate of the Unrest manor house (secret doors behind the bookcase, attic, basement, grounds and all).

Really not impressed with the size of the house or number of rooms. Was hoping for so much more.

I am incredibly pleased with the home! It seems like over time all these houses have gotten "bigger and better", but bigger being the key word. Yes, bigger is nice, but scaled to fit actual sized furniture and characters is definately something wonderful in my book.

The secret to the house is fantastic. Really creative

I bought one as soon as I could and can't wait to finish it up! In my opinion, this is the one home that I wouldn't cover all the walls up as I would with all the others. The detail is too beautiful to slap a tile or divider in front of.

I am pleased as punch with this house. I fell in love with that house because it had character. One of the things I loved best about it was the blackened texture on the walls, the grimy look and feel to it, the tattered curtains--it felt old, disused and lived in. This new house doesn't have that--it's just a box that sort of resembles the Somborn Mansion.

Folks complained that the 7 year vet house looked too worn out and wished they had a nice new shiney house instead. So this one is nice and shiney and now folks are complaining that it should look shabby. I don't think the poor designers can win for losing.

If they had given us a "nice new shiny house", that would be fine. But they BILLED it as "Uncanny Estate", which comes with expectations of it being "shabby"; or--in the case of the Somborn Mansion--decayed, moldering and musty.

Please don't equate the general whine-and-moaning that goes on in the forums with the very specific concerns and comments about this very specific house release brought up in this thread. My comments are what they are because I truly love the Somborn Mansion and have wished for that exact instance as a house ever since it was introduced--and yes, I'm disappointed that this "Uncanny Estate" isn't it.

I'm a huge fan of the art department here, and I'm pretty sure they know it--I'm constantly posting in threads about the stuff they do and how much I love it. So please don't muddy the facts here--read the whole thread and people's entire posts before dismissing them as simple "complaining".

I am simply tired of folks making negative comments here and elsewhere in the forums. If you want a different kind of SC house, just create a post and say what you want to see in a SC house. Don't just complain that what was offered is a disappointment and should be changed. Be positive, not negative.
