Been trying to log in for the past half hour. Have checked my subs, i'm on a network connection that operates without problem and on the same laptop i'm always on.

For some reason I can't connect to the game! The server status on players shows its up and fine and running, but I can't connect to the login server.

Is it down for some reason?

The same thing is happening to me. there are a few threads that talk about this but they seem to point to the problem being solved. Well not for us lol.

I opened a petition to see if that would help, so lets hope. I've been trying to log in for over 2 hours now

Btw the servers are up and running a friend of mine has logged in and out without any trouble.

Checked the Virgin Medai network status, seems to be fine, which would mean the problem is SOE's

I wouldn't have thought it was an ISP problem. I am able to play on us servers, eq2x and test, but splitpaw doesn't want to work for me. Which is a pain Cause it's my home server with all my characters on lol

still on news yet

I just spoke to Virgin. They are already working on it and are hoping to have it fixed by 11pm tonight.

Thanks for the link about ports btw. I checked mine and it looks like they are all blocked at the moment.

No idea, just says that the ports are not available.

I'm really ignorant about stuff like this but I downloaded and used the port checker program from port forwarding.

I've been running Wireshark and looking at the connections, all sorts of timeouts and retransmissions from the ones initiated by Launcher - all other apps seem to be OK.

Ok downloaded and installed port forwarding checker and mine were blocked but after resetting the computer and trying to log in again to the game, nothing has changed and i am still getting the same problem.

Might be nice if we could get an answer of some sort from support please.

We are not aware of any ongoing issues with Splitpaw at this time as there are a good deal of players online and adventuring.

The common denominator here seems to be the ISP. Best I can do at the moment is provide the information you may need for further configuration but I did notice a user say that virgin hoped to have the issue fixed this evening? What was the issue itself? If I'm interpreting right, there are blocked ports? We use a specific range and blocking that from our side would disallow anyone at all from getting online.

Here is the port information just in case you need it, your service provider can also use this info if the block is internal to their network.

[EQII] Port information

Hi TSR-JoshuaM

If it was an ISP problem why would i be able to play on orther servers and not splitpaw ? Are the ports specific to each server or something ? I must agree that virgin seems to be the denominator but not the only one

I've already gone oover any port setting and all are ok. I was ablr to login in with no trouble less than 24hrs ago but about 7 hrs ago i have not been able to get to splitpaw.

Thank for anything you can do and we are aware not all answers can be answered fully

Cheers

Just checked up on virgin web site and there seems to be a problem but it won't be fixed until 8am monday BST.

So it looks as if i am going to have to play a noobie low lvl on a different server until then lol

Oh Well!

Hey JoshuaM

They didn't say what the problem was, they just knew there was a problem with online gaming.

It only seems to be Splitpaw on EQ2 though. Like the poster above said, I have no problems accessing the US servers, and a guildie has been playing Rift without any problems.

I am having the same problem on Splitpaw server as of yesterday. Hours without a problem and then high ping and extreme packet loss fluctuations like 1-40 and it keeps doing that, i close the eq2 client and start it again, log in and same.

Today, raided for 2 hours no problem and then same problem and had to cut short my raid.

By the way, my ISP is O2 (London). Checked O2's status and all good at their end. Have power cycled my router as well but to no effect.

Forgot to mention. Many of my other guildies were having the same problem on different ISPs and missed the raid.

I'm also with Virgin and cannot log on despite many attempts. Can log onto the US servers very easily, but splitpaw does not want to work for me at all. Virgin website says they are aware of intermittent connection issues and will be fixed tomorrow. But apart from not being able to log onto splitpaw server my internet is otherwise totally fine.

Is anyone else having the same problems still?

I've received word that Virgin does in fact have an ongoing routing issue that will affect your connectivity to our UK based servers. Virgin has a workaround involving adding in the webcache address in to your proxy, but that will have to be something you address with Virgin.

Hi Josh

Thanks for the update. Does anyone have a link to the Virgin Media tech support article with details of workaround, I can't seem to find it?

Hal
