Once I was turned, I felt the need to connect to my past, remembering my old self. Possibly my attachment to relics and my own nostalgia brought this upon the Opera House I recently decided to buy...<img src="http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i377/screenshot_shack/Everquest%20II/Graveyard1.jpg" width="800" height="470" />Here is the Graveyard, located in the back room. A treant from South Karana watches over some Scarecrows from Rivervale & Unrest. A frozen skeleton from Everfrost frequently rests amongst the headstones. Fippy Darkpaw, no stranger to death, seems to of taken a liking to this part of the Opera House.<img src="http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i377/screenshot_shack/Everquest%20II/Sathirian-Empire1.jpg" width="800" height="458" />Upon putting some Iksar and Di'Zok skulls in this corner of the Opera House, a strong presence from Kunark of Old started to appear. Knowing full well the power of Sathir, I shall leave it alone.<img src="http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i377/screenshot_shack/Everquest%20II/orc.jpg" width="800" height="479" />The spirit of an Orc from Old Crushbone has set up a torture chamber/food preparation area in the back room, next to the Graveyard. I decline the food politely while calling out 'Hail, Emperor Crush!'There are several other strange occurances throughout the theater, not to mention the disappearing patrons who have left various items, and a few that...well, I believe the Orc got to them.Each window seems to look upon days past. Anything from Spectres from the Oasis to the bats that new Adventurers many hundreds of years ago used to hone their skills freely move about the area. I like to read the books I've kept and collected from the 'Old Days', and watch as some friends and enemies from long ago meander the halls. It brings a smile to my face that only slightly shows my fangs.

The judging will be done by a few of our community managers and we will be judging on the following: creativeness, theme, uniqueness, and the overall aesthetics. This will be our opinions on these. Ok, I wasn't going to enter this year. I really wasn't, but then this idea bit me and wouldn't let go. Anyone know Old Man Dave.....he's in the Hedge Hollow and he gets very upset when you ring his bell, hollering "Get off my Lawn!" Well, I got to wondering...what happened to him to make him so angry...and this idea of the house just sorta rollllled itself until I could ignore it no longer! Basically what I did was set up all the pranks I could think of...from the soaping of his windows to a dead rat in the sink.....<img src="http://www.jklm.net/atn/omd.jpg" />Here are the details:<li>Character Name Eirisse </li><li>Character Server AB </li><li>Address and City of House 5 Freedom Rd SF. A few screenshots are here, the rest are in the Homeshow Channel linked above.“So, they tell me you wanted to hear the story about Old Man Dave, eh? He makes quite an impression on any visitors round the Night of the Dead, that’s for certain. One knock on his door, and out he comes, waving a bottle and screaming ‘Get off my lawn’ to any and all. If I say so myself, and I have to, cause few else take the time to find anything out, you’ve asked the right person.The crazy part is.. Old Man Dave loved the Nights of the Dead, but his wife, that’s a different story. While she was alive, she wouldn’t hear of any such celebration, owing to her being a truly Goddess-fearing young woman. When she passed, he took it as his one disobedient act from her memory to start decorating the place for folks to come by. He carved pumpkins, set out candy, and even baked cookies, which certainly weren’t as good as his wife’s would have been, but considering her views on the subject, were indeed better than nothing.The problem for him was that the young folks had long since given up ever visiting his house on Nights of the Dead. In fact, they were just about fed up at that darkened house at the end of the lane, obviously well-to-do but never a candle in the window nor a pumpkin on the path. So it happened that this year, as Old Man Dave was preparing as best he could, the kids from the village were making their own preparations.As night fell, they began their vengeful deviltry.. paper through his trees and over his porch. Eggs thrown everywhere and anywhere. His carved pumpkins were squashed beneath their angry feet, the tombstones of his family all pushed over, and the scarecrows he had brought from the field to mark the occasion were set alight. His mailbox was demolished, his chairs thrown up into the trees, and every apple within 10 feet of the ground left on the branches, but with one bite taken from each. Each container on the property was tossed upside down, except those already upside down, which were turned right-side up out of contrariness.The pranksters had one final joke to play.. the fastest of them rang the doorbell while the rest watched from the hedgerow. As Old Man Dave came to the door, with candy, gum and cookies on a tray for his very first visitor ever.. they tossed a custard pie at him, striking him square in the face. He couldn’t see who had done it, and he couldn’t see the rest of the damage to his decorations, as the pie filling covered his eyes. He also couldn’t see the burning scarecrow that was then knocked over onto his porch. He couldn’t see the flames.. couldn’t see to escape.. and ended up joining his late wife soon afterwards.So that’s why he’s so angry, you see. A holiday he loved had been turned against him, and now he hates the very thought of Nights of the Dead. It’s hardly surprising, I’d say.But, please don’t blame those children. How could they have known what would happen? And what’s more, how could we… they.. how could they have known he was going to spend that particular holiday getting his place ready, after so many years? I say, I’d been by that house 5 years, treat bag in hand, and nothing. So it was only natural that I got the rest of us together and..Go on, now. I’ve said too much. The scariest part of the house is in that "secret" area soplease try not to miss it. I have some writable books placed around the house, usually on the floor. Read themfor some short messages which should enhance your experience. Having the default in-game music and sound on also helps enhance the atmosphere. I've decided not to include screenshots because my current computer can't run the game on high graphics settings very well, so any screenshots I take wouldn't look that good. Also, just as a friendly warning to anyone who's easily bothered by creepy/scary stuff, you may want to avoid Amrius's house. I did my best to make it as creepy as possible and to stay true to what you would probably expect to find in the house of a Necromancer who follows Bertoxxulous. Everyone is welcome to come see the house. It's the first house I've finished in EQ2 and needless to say, I've put a lot of time and effort into it. I hope everyone enjoys it. Feel free to mail me in-game comments as well, I always appreciate constructive feedback and positive reviews.

It is about a group of pirates that get shipwrecked during a mutinous uprising, led by Tiny, the biggest of the bunch. The ship is blown apart during the fight in the hold, and only a few of the mutinous crewmates live through it. They were near an island, stocking up on water and food, when this happened, so they survivors swam to shore and waited until morning to see what they could do. They scavenged what materials they could from the ship and built a house. They also buried what bodies they could find.The only problem is that the loyal followers of the original captain come back to find revenge on those that blew up the ship!Decorated by Nephredil and Ashinor Evensong.

At least 4 of the winners had me scratching my head thinking, "Really?!?!". Next time you do a contest like this the judges either need to look at all of the entries or you need to get judges capable of determing what qualifies as talented decorating in the world of EQ2.
