After today's update I'm having issues with being able to login to the game.

What occurs is everything goes fine until the game hits the "waiting for entities" point, where the loading will pause for quite some time. Sometimes I crash to character select at this point. Other times, I've gotten into the game and been able to walk around for a minute or so before a crash. Once inside the game, I can't activate anything (hail, tells, etc.)

I've tried removing ProfitUI, deleting cache, system scan, tried logging in different characters camped in different zones, etc. with no luck.

Any advice? I'm not seeing any crash logs created, I don't actually crash out of game just to character select.

Thanks,

Bursck

The problem seems to be recurring. I was on all day w/o issue, zoned to the guild hall and stuck waiting on entities again and now a simple modem reset isn't fixing it. I'm having no issues accessing other internet (websites, email, etc).

I have been seeing this problem recently as well. It first occurred Sunday night. The last time I played prior to that was Friday, and everything seemed fine.

Tried numerous things, even did a complete reinstall of EQ2 last night with no UI's / Add ons and still got the error.

Been playing since 2004 on my original install of EQ2, never seen anything like this. The fresh re-install I did last night was from the Sentinel's Fate retail box, and it did no good at all.

Just to re-iterate. I am able to log in, patch, connect, go to character select, choose character and enter game. Hangs on either "Receiving Zone Info" or "Waiting for entities".

I highly recommend downloading the full version of our latest LaunchPad for Everquest II which I've linked for you below. Install a new copy over your existing EQII game folder.

[EQII] LaunchPad

Launchpad is not the problem. I get the same issue regardless of how I enter the game.

I run the Launchpad that came with SF. I run the Launchpad that came with the game in 2004. I run the Everquest2.exe file directly. All with the same results.

Has nothing whatsoever to do with Launchpad.

I'll rule out the LaunchPad once you are using our latest but I can't really provide you with any additional support until you do update to it.

The patchers you mentioned are all much older and not up to date.

As I said, Launchpad had nothing to do with it. Here is the answer:

You need to create 2 rules in Windows Firewall:

1 - Inbound. Program, Everquest2.exe, Allow All, All domains. Name Everquest 2 Inbound

2 - Outbound. Program, Everquest2.exe, Allow All, All domains. Name Everquest 2 Outbound

Yes, I'm sure it had nothing to do with the LaunchPad. However, we support our latest, not the older ones. Locking this up !
