You are using a 32bit operating system with approximately 4.9GB of physical memory (4GB of RAM, 879MB Video memory). 32 bit Operating Systems can only address 4GB of memory total. If you are running at higher settings, with background applications running, you may quickly run out of the 4GB of total addressable memory space.

What I recommend is lowering your settings a bit, at a balanced or lower customized setting. Disabling cosmetic features like particles/shadows/lighting and lowering texture/character resolution may help a great deal with this.

The alternative is to make the transition to a 64bit operating system to limit, or even eliminate, the potential situations you are running in to that cause you to run out of memory.

Iad wrote:

So basically it's a memory leak, and I need to lower my settings suddenly after GU 61? =p

No.

It has nothing to do with a memory leak.

Memory leak is a very specific term. It does not equate to using memory as intended, and then running out of it nor does it equate to a limitation in a 32bit operating system.

Well, as I said I had never seen this error before GU 61, and it now happens frequently. My settings are on balanced or lower. I have shadows off, animations medium, particle effects low. It just doesn't make sense to me. I have played this game with lower amounts of ram and a lesser video card and never saw this error.

Review what else is running in the background and disable unnecessary applications. The goal here is to eliminate any unnecessary consumption of memory while playing EQII so it always has available memory address space.

If all else fails, open a support ticket, include your MSINFO file, and give me the incident number. I'll go over it for additional recommendations on what else you can shut down while playing.

I have had the same issue since gu61. I haven't had a low memory issue in probably 6 months since I stopped using firefox browser. I too think it's strange that it has occured again. The last time it happened I used ctrl/alt/del to see what the load was and eq2 was at over 1k, normally it's about 826,000 or so.Haven't had the issue in the last few days so seems to have leveled out. Just thought I would post as an FYI.
