<p>I was just curious if anyone knows of any way to prevent EQ2 from unloading information, I get great framerates when I'm standing still, 40-60 is not unusual, however when I attempt to move and other players / terrain loads in I am running into severe hiccups, FPS regularly drops down to 10-14 for half a second then pops back up very shortly after.  Now that's fine, I have no problem with that and I expect it, since after all not everyone has 16GB of ram and it would be rediculous to load unnessesary things into ram that are not being used, for example Loading the texture for Lady Vox while creating a character in Hate's Envy.</p><p>That said, if I were to walk one direction, get my skips loading things the first time, then walk back to where I just was, I get the same skips. </p><p>So my question is this: Is there a way to relax the game's garbage collection so it makes more use out of my ram and less use of my HDD?</p><p>Here's my system stats</p><p><span style="color: #ffffff; font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, Helvetica, Geneva, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; background-color: #061834;"><table style="font-size: 11px; width: 500px;" ><tbody><tr><th >Manufacturer:</th><td ><div>Self</div></td></tr><tr><th >Processor:</th><td ><div>AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1075T Processor (6 CPUs), ~3.0GHz</div></td></tr><tr><th >Memory:</th><td ><div>16384MB RAM</div></td></tr><tr><th >Hard Drive:</th><td ><div>3.3 TB Raid 0</div></td></tr><tr><th >Video Card:</th><td ><div>NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570</div></td></tr><tr><th >Monitor:</th><td ><div>Acer G24</div></td></tr><tr><th >Sound Card:</th><td ><div>Razer Megalodon 7.1 Surround</div></td></tr><tr><th >Speakers/Headphones:</th><td ><div>Razer Megalodon 7.1 Surround</div></td></tr><tr><th >Keyboard:</th><td ><div>Razer Tarantula</div></td></tr><tr><th >Mouse:</th><td ><div>Razer Mamba</div></td></tr><tr><th >Mouse Surface:</th><td ><div>Razer Destructor</div></td></tr><tr><th >Operating System:</th><td ><div>Ubuntu 11.04 64bit (wine 1.3.2<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div></td></tr><tr><th >Motherboard:</th><td ><div>Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3</div></td></tr><tr><th >Computer Case:</th><td ><div>Antek 900</div></td></tr></tbody></table></span></p>
