Offensive Stance is only useful for the scout and tank pet. It's absolutely worthless for the mage pet. Reason? The Offensive stance improves the pet's melee hit rates, however the mage pet doesn't melee (even when it does, the auto-attack damage it deals is insignificant).

However you should never be using the scout pet over the mage pet in the first place.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't used it since SF. Thank you, Banditman and other contributors to the forum. Since I've started playing Your advice is all I've ever needed to play well.

In general for the mage pet use the level 14 Grandmaster defensive. It adds pet HP, which also increases Soulburn. Using the level 14 spell adds the same pet HP but much less pet aggro than the higher level ones.

The offensive one for mage pets is totally worthless, I don't even have it on my spell bar.
