From the September 07, 2011 Test notes:

Critical chance should no longer appear on items below level 80.

Um...what? Shouldn't this be critical mitigation? As far back as Kingdom of Sky, items have had some level of critical chance.

I wondered if they meant crit bonus instead of crit chance, but crit mit would make sense too. Of them all, removing crit chance is the only one that makes no sense at all.

I hopped on test to look, and the only thing I can see is that nothing is changed as far as mastercrafted goes. Several items below level 80 still have crit mit, crit bonus, and crit chance.

Hard to know if they've actually pushed it to test yet, or just posted the notes as they did for the live patch. I guess we will see. As a side note, after re-outfitting all of my mid-level characters, I can't wait to see what is getting changed (again) with all their gear. I don't think GU 61 could have possibly been a bigger disaster.

One thing is certain. If crit chance is being removed from itemization at lower levels, there's little to no point in itemizing for crit bonus at lower levels either.

There was really no point of crit bonus in the low levels before. I have a level 27 toon that has 10% crit bonus and 5% crit chance. That makes no sense.

Hopefully it's crit mit or crit bonus that's removed pre 80 rather than crit chance, cause keeping those and removing crit chance just makes no sense at all.
