View Full Version : Battlegrounds could use a Complete Revamp.

<p>When SF first released battlegrounds, they were a second way to get gear, they also were very fun and challenging new way to engage players and offered a new way to play everquest.</p><p>Currently, battlegrounds are empty, not many people do them, your lucky to get even a group or raid now, they are also full of bugs and currently... Unfun to play...</p><p>The Current things need to be done to fix battlegrounds in this order, each step will have an explanation as to why this needs to be done.</p><p>- Remove Frozen Tundra and Faction.</p><p>Why? because the zone is not only unfun, its boring and unengaging, and the faction is silly, nobody really cares about this zone and nobody would miss it if it was just removed.</p><p>- Remove PvP Multi-Attack, PvP Critical Bonus, PvP Potency, Toughness, set rules to how dueling is.</p><p>These stats are not needed anymore, "every piece of armor in the game has critical mitigation on it now" currently duels are 100x more fun and balanced compared to current PvP-only gear, and the stats are just bad, just make critical mitigation also as a bonus reduce PvP Damage as well, this would make the game far funner to players who do BGs for fun.  If you ask me, this is probably what really killed PVP for most players.</p><p>- Roll back the nerfs on spells and abilitys.</p><p>The abilitys were fine before nerfs, they just needed to beable to be removed from mages and healers, that would make mages alot more viable in PVP, also as a bonus you could add a small duration debuff that makes the person not able to cast "Until-Canceled" buffs until it wears off, making it more useful in PVP.</p><p>- Add REWARDING gear to Battlegrounds.</p><p>The gear should give you an advantage in PvE as well as PvP, otherwise theres no reason for players to run them, wether it be stats, looks, appearance... the new PvP gear is trash, it is worse then PQ gear and 100x harder to get, not only that, compared to the old PVP gear, it looks terrible.</p><p>- The Furniture.</p><p>Please change the way you sell furniture, 150 tokens for a piece of furniture is very unreasonable, please make it more like "2-5" tokens.</p><p>- Remove the Champion's Respite</p><p>This zone is buggy and unfinished and just offers unneeded lag, it also bugs out things and throws 90s into 30 BGs.  Additionally, this also puts 11 players against 1 or 0 sometimes.</p><p>- Smuggler's Den</p><p>Add more setup time.</p><p>Make the Zone support up to 3 Raids instead of 2.  Why?  Because it will be alot harder to win, with 3 raids you could possibly help your allies or your enemies by attacking a base you could weaken yourself to the other enemy, making it more of a game of Risk and Strategy.</p><p>Make the Zone only available once an hour, then offer 20x the reward.  This makes it more of a brutal melee, since you can only do the zone once an hour AND fight against 2 different enemys, it would add more of an incentive to win.</p><p>- Battlefield of Ganak</p><p>Add more setup time.</p><p>Add 2 Turrets infront of Each Base, The turrets will be unable to be fired at close range and only can fire at enemys at a distance, these turrets HURT and do focus damage.  Why? Strategy, a base should not be easily taken over, it would encourage players to move with eachother in groups instead of going RAMBO on a base and taking the flag then running back.  The Turrets should be point/fire.</p><p>Make the Zone Support 2 Raids instead of 12 players on each side. <p>PvP gear needs to be seperate and better than PvE gear for PvP for starters.  Yes they can over lap some IE PvP gear be equal to T1 or T2 raid gear for PvE purposes and T4 Raid gear be Equal to the MC PvP gear. </p><p>PvP gear and BG gear should be seperate also as BG's are not PvP.  They are PvP Light at most and should not afford the same bonus as PvP gear.  Just like my PvP gear should not afford the same bonus as your T4 Raid gear I did not earn or buy T4 Raid gear ( like some on these boards ) so I do not get the bonus.</p><p>Keep seperate tokens as I personaly will not do anouther BG.  I tried them when they first came out and had fun for about a month and then that was over.  No problems with changes to the BG maps though I could care less about them.</p><p>As for the PvP merchant uhhh NO if you want PvP gear come to Naggy or Vox and earn it.  If I want Raid gear I would go earn it.  The same should apply to PvP gear.</p>

Also just reminder that manaburn hits you for about 45k in pve duel</p><p>if you want real pvp go play on nagafen its most decent pvp you can get and its actually fun when you 6v30 or 6v6</p>

<p>Fact is BGs were more popular when people were running them as an alternative for certain pieces of gear in the PVE world. Take that away and of course the popularity is gonna drop 100%. Faction and new BG zone has nothing to do with it. People whined over how it wasn't fair yaddi yaddi, and it's now changed completly and nobody runs that junk anymore. Guess the cry babies shoulda thought before blowing whistles.</p>

<p>honestly if you want a good 6 vs 6 or non pvp stats go to the arena, the arena isnt affected with pvp stats and its still a way to get alot of people in one area fighting much like battlegrounds</p>
