Hi,

I've been away from EQII for several months and I recently decided to re-install it on my computer so I could take advantage of my 45-day free pass. The installation seems to have gone fine, but every time I click on play I get a message that says "EQ2 Client Application has stopped working... A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Directly clicking on the .exe file generates the same message.

I checked the forums for suggestions and opened a support ticket. This was what I am assuming is my final message from them said:

"Unfortunately, despite the fact you have been able to run EQ2 in the past, the game client is constantly being updated, rendering older video card devices more and more obsolete over time. The rest of your system appears to be fine as far as the system specs needed to run EQ2 but if you choose to continue using the same video card, you can probably expect to continue to see trouble time and time again. This device even seems outside the scope of ATI's support as there has not been an update to the drivers for this device this year at all and it would appear there will not be any more driver updates for this video card. Based on the information provided and troubleshooting steps already completed, I would say the obvious choice would be to update your video card."

Anyway, the point of this post is to see if anyone on these forums has any new ideas on what to try to get EQ2 to work on my computer. Otherwise, I'm just going back to playing GW and NWN2. There is no way I'm buying a new video card just to play free for 45 days. All of my other games work fine with my current card (which is an ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series, if anyone is wondering).

Thanks for your time.

PS: Does anyone happen to know how accurate that "Can You Run It" site is? According to it, I should be able to run EQ2.
