View Full Version : Promo not really a promo? my canceled accounts not enabled -asked to pay

<p>5 accounts not enabled for the promo but should be. The dates below are the last payment dates on each account. 3/17/11 1/17/11 11/7/10 11/12/10 11/18/10 I canceled each one after and havent paid since.In the email I recieved, the wording seems misleading. It says " who have quit the game between November 5, 2010and August 2, 2011 can come back for free." That makes me think that if I had an account then canceled and have not re-upped since, I should be eligable. This is apparently not the case, since I tried logging in and it tells me to pay to play.I logged in on my accounts briefly when I got the email from SoE about the free time from the hack earlier this yearand to change my passwords and check my stuff. I dont think logging in is the same as "paying" and we shouldnt be penalized on this promo for the freetime bonus if we briefly logged in to check our accounts after the hack.I was under the impression that we had free time for a mariad of reasons, one of which was to be able to log into your accounts, change your passwords and make sure your characters and items werent compromised.I mostly used that time for these reasons. I would like to see the new items and mechanics that rolled out with thenew GU, how things are now, etc. I am enticed to buy Velious for my accounts if I like what I see.I doubt Ill get a response before the promotion is over, but I just wanted to let those in charge knowthat if your going to do a promotion like this, it should be worded in a way thats more obvious. With a note on the free bonus time from the Sony hack.( Which isnt paid time on our part anyway, we werentable to cancel once logged in, its just a countdown from 45 days from login. No matter how often you log in.The unsubbed accounts immediatly went into "Pending status" when you logged in.)The wording such as it is on the promo is confusing, it should say " if you have not logged in at all within the dates(nov 5- Aug 2), you are eligible for this promo. If you logged in via the bonus time we gave for the hack to our system,you are ineligible for this promo."So if my accounts are indeed supposed to be included in the promo this time, I would appreciate getting themenabled. Also, if a CS tries to message me here Im an unpaid account and cannot recieve messages on the forum. thanks for your time.</p>

<p>There is a thread in the General Discussion about this too.</p><p>I tried to login due to the email sent to me, and it ask for a subscription.</p><p>My last record of transactions on my account was in June 2011, so I should qualify to return as per the email.</p>

<p>nicely written post. yes, they should have stated it as you wrote it. that said, i think this was a super lame decision on SOE's part bc many ppl DID log in after the hack so i guess they are trying to reach the small % of ppl who did not log in after the hack? those ppl who most likely are never returning.....</p><p>i know that some ppl did not return bc they had a total mistrust in SOE after the hack, why would they come back now for 3 free days (when they had 45 days before)?</p><p><em>p.s. SOE has not confirmed nor have they denied that the promo was to exclude or include the ppl who logged in during the 45-days. their silence has made many believe it was exclusionary for those former customers.</em></p>

<p>I'm having the same issue for my primary account. I've not bothered to check my other account.</p><p>I read in one of the other threads CS are activating some of them manually from the Live Chat thing but since it's now the weekend (got the email at 20past midnight this morning) I can't try that option. I've sent in a support ticket but I have no idea if they work the weekend.</p><p>I can't see why they would flag you ineligible for this free time if you played during the 45 days after the hack... afterall, weren't those 45 days to make up for the hack and the downtime, not to stop us checking back after what looks like a good GU61 months later?</p><p>Then again, who knows, it is SOE <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>There are various reasons why an account may not have received the 3 days automatically but luckily I am here over the weekend to sort it all out. <p>I gotta hold off on the grants for about an hour and a half here. We're running the automated scripts right now which should get to everyone still missing time. I'll continue to grant time for anyone missed once the scripts have ended.</p>

<p>kudos to you Joshua and your coworkers for working on this over the holiday weekend. I for one really appreciate your attention to the matter and how quickly you resolved everything on my end. All 5 accounts appear enabled for the promo, thanks so much for your efforts. I hope you have a good weekend.</p><p>*NOTE; Is the free mount one per account? It doesnt specify that anywhere on the promo info and I cannot claim more (like on alts) than the one on the initial character I logged in. Can you confirm if the mount is one per account please?</p>
