Oh Lord, Another Returning Player Topic

<p>So I'm taking advantage of the 45 free days and returning for a bit. My main is a level 86, used to raid, been playing since '04, blah blah blah. In the end, I have a few questions. I absolutely hated the Odus expansion, as did my fellow players, and it unfortunately dissolved us from playing. My question is, has anything been done to this content, or is it still the same? I'm not quite sure I'm willing to drop 30+ bucks into the Velious expansion without a little knowledge in mind beforehand. Would I need to play the Odus content before seeing the Velious content? Basically wondering what I can do at this level, that would re-capture my desire to play (on Lucan server btw).</p><p>And finally, how is the community doing these days? Is it worth buying Velious with Zek coming around the corner? Is the population rather dead at the moment until a new expansion comes around? Any information would be appreciated to fuel my desire to play, as normally it's powered by fellow players who unfortunately are simply just not interested in playing again after Odus.</p>

<p>I think you can start the velious quests at level 85-86 so you could jump into there right away if you purchased the expansion.</p><p>The experiance in the Velious zones and quests is pretty low so you'll gain your last 4 levels and last AA's pretty slow if you don't go do dungeons and quest in the previous expansions.</p><p>The gear progression in Velious is weird, odd, strange and frustrating. That being said I'm still having fun pushing through Easy Mode raiding and pushing through the Drunder Heroic zones as a very non-hard core raider.</p>

<p>*Edit*</p><p>Is the war of the zek free content with the velious expansion? I would really like to skip Odus completely and pretend it never happened if the Velious content is fun to play. Just think it's rough I have to drop 30+ bucks on an expansion that came out at the beginning of the year, that comes with a bunch fo expansions I already have. However if it's fun and takes the place of Odus and comes with free Zek content it may be worth it...</p>

<p>War of Zek is the GU61 content. DoV is pretty awesome and you get some really nice quest rewards too. Plus every hour there are usually public quests going on where you can get even better armor/weapon for lvl 90.</p>
