Sad to see Saturday night which should be the busiest for BG with absolutely no games.

In previous iterations this would be BG after BG without waiting.

Its a fact... your current strategy is absolutely not working - Ive been sitting for over 30 mins with nothing happening.

The grind for faction is incredibly tedious - with current demand to play I challenge anyone to get equipped in less than 6 months.

The Hub although a great "option" fails hugely as mandatory.

You honestly have such a huge untapped potential with BG's but right now its completely wasted - majority of people are not playing due to lack of incentive and artificial grind / time sink.

Ive been playing EQ2 since release and EQ1 before. I quit a few months ago but came back due to GU61 and the BG changes. Im dissapointed to see where your taking BGs (ie their grave).

bugs that are ignored aren't really helping either. i use to be an avid bg'er in t4 and t9, now i've given up on it.

To say the current plan is not working would be erroneous. They currently have no plan at all with BGs, really they haven't had even one single guy working on them since GU60 went live at least.

I guess when they first thought of making them they figured they would be very low maintenance, and that once they'd knocked off the zones and everything they could pretty much leave them to themselves, and move back on to PvE content development.

I'd also suggest that in the interests of making as much money as possible they laid off a few too many guys and the game is suffering badly as a consequence - obviously the fact Olihin got pulled off PvP and stuck on PvE stuff is one example, but really that GU61 was as buggy and screwed up as any GU I can remember. Wouldn't be that surprised either if the whole beastlord thing is driven mostly by a desire to crowbar extra character slot sales on the marketplace.

Anyway, its all just a shame - I thought the ideas and direction of BGs that were mentioned by Olihin around the launch of GU60 seemed really good to me, just a tragedy that pretty much straight after that there was nobody left to fix any of the (still) glaring problems.

As for the total lack of input from SoE devs on the whole PvP and BG issues, clearly they have a policy of not commenting or getting involved in any discussion of issues they have absolutely no intention of addressing in the near future.

It would be nice to see a dev reply on this issue.

At this point returning the queue system with no lobby server as it was before DoV launch would make battlegrounds playable until the current system is working correctly.

We've been waiting for a dev to comment on the BGs issues since this ill fated statement by Olihin in the Tundra feedback thread on JUNE 21:

"On some points, like getting faction for The Frozen Tundra only, that is how the system was set up to be. You get armor from doing the latest Battleground. You are still able to get all other armor from going the other Battleground, but if you want the new one, then you are to do the new Battleground. Should that need change? Perhaps, but it is not something that is high on the priority at this time compared to other issues being reported."

The change finally came with GU61 on August 25 (or whatever it was), but the BGs were dead by then, having been killed by the Tundra fail and all the other problems that SOE ignored. It's such a shame; the BGs had such potential.

Nobody wants to do BGs anymore because the PvP gear is meaningless outside the BG. People would rather spend their time doing PQs. In SF people would use BG gear to become better at PvE but when they separated the stats completely people just stopped caring.
