I really want to like this game, it's always been the technical difficulties that have frustrated me.

I decided to try to make a return with my incredibly overpowered computer and see if it can handle the beast that is EQ2.

I am running an overclocked i7 2600k+ @4.4ghz with 8g of dd3 1600 ram. I have two 5870s in crossfire and I still have framerate issues. I have set it down to balanced settings, tried both gpu and cpu shadows, tried shader 3 and shader 1 and I am just at my wits end. I am getting like 15-20 fps in places and that is just crazy. This computer should dominate this game.

What settings do I need to adjust to make the game playable. Do I really have to play this game without shadows or something?

Any updated tips are much appreciated.

edit: ok, I noticed my GPU clocks were only at 50%. I disabled crossfire with RadeonPro and my FPS doubled to a steller 34fps =/.

I wish this game could utilize both of my cards properly At least it is playable now.
