No more bucklers for Dirges/Scouts?

<p>1)   Just so you know GU61 made my MC ironwood buckler Priest only.</p><p>I could not find any shield usable for a Dirge.</p><p>Is this intended?</p><p>Can we continue to use bucklers?</p><p>With the insane stat increase I'm not sure I'll gain a lot by sword 'n boarding, but it's nice to have the option. Dirges already have very few choices for looks as it is.</p><p>2)  The scout set armor in Tenebrous Tangle has no blue stats (eg. Boots of the Bombast)  <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />   Again there is very few armor looks for the Dirge in lower tiers, so that's a bit of a let down. It's supposedly legendary as well.</p>

<p>My bad, I found a Rusted Shield of the Barren Sky (treasured, level 60) for All Scouts.</p><p>There just wasn't any bucklers on the broker when I looked.</p>

<p>The reason I use shileds sometimes, personally, is because in some groups my DPS potential is irrelevant as there is enough DPS. In that case I like to play the support role and actually use my Oration heal spell, and few other things. When I play support role to help the healer in emergencies, and focus on debuffing and let the others focus on DPS.. I like the shield for extra protection.</p><p>My main complaint is the lack of interesting shields for Scouts at lower tiers. Shields that are legendary, or that have some kind of useful effect. Previously the only T1-T6 shield that I could use that had a proc and decent stats was the MC one.</p>

Where did you find the shield?  I've looked in Zam and Wiki (lovely Search engines, really top-notch...NOT) and both of them blinked stupidly at me. --U.</p><p>P.P.S. Just glanced at my Woodworker on Test; he's in his 30s now, and so far, all of his books are claiming that Scouts aren't apparently supposed to have any Bucklers, even.  This isn't right, since historically, accurately, realistically, people who used rapiers a lot (like Scouts, here) also used small, round defensive armors in their other hands, aka Bucklers (I imagine that healers like Priests would want something a bit larger to "hide" themselves and a patient behind when they're trying to patch someone up, and so would want Round Shields, which are larger than Bucklers).  It's a very valid fencing (swordfighting) technique, even today. --U.</p>
