The Fishbone Earing was :+10 str +18 sta +10 agi +10 int

Now it's +20 int +20 sta

How the Heritage Quest rewards have been updated seems, at the least, to be a little odd.

The Screaming Mace has lost its wisdom, making it just a fighter weapon now.

Polished Granite Tomohawk lost it's strength, making it just a scout weapon now.

The greater lightstone lost it's ability bonus, and is just int and sta now, as is the Glowing Black Stone.

There are 4 versions of the Dwarven Workboots, but none suitable for any sort of priest.

The HQ rewards needed updating badly. But they needed updating with respect to what it is they did before. Many are actually now worse, especially for some classes which could have used them before. Please have another go at bringing them up to speed, without reducing the range of classes that might use them.

Oh aye, and the Flowing Black Silk Sash, that very model of a monk item, lost all its strength.

It's OK for an item to have more than one stat + stamina. Somebody needs to tell the computer script that. Heritage Quests are too important to be trusted to automation, IMHO. They need the personal touch of someone who loves and understands them.

I agree, I promptly removed my FBSS and replaced it with a simple treasured leggings that had +21 attack speed on it, among plenty of other stats. Didn't stack wit FBSS and was definitely faster. It was like 12 gold on the broker. :p

EDIT: Replaced FBSS with a level 60 ish item so I suppose the attack speed increase was normal, however it didn't seem like any of the HQ items I have (SSOY, FBSS, Serated Dirk dagger) had any decent stats compared to cheap legendaries I could get off the broker.

The HQ gear should be made one of the, if not the, best items in their tier. Not worse or on par with normal quest gear

I bugged & sent a very long feedback on this after I logged on a lower level char that had been using the Greater Lightstone & Fishbone earring, only to find they were no longer any good for her now other than the clicky effect on the fishbone.

I fully believe that all heritage quest items should have all stats for classes that can use the items. It wouldn't make them any more powerful, but would make them viable choices for more people and give them a reason other than status to do the quests.

Making the greater light stone 20int 20 wis 20 str 20 agi 20 sta wouldn't hurt anything anymore than making it 20 int 20 sta does.

Screaming mace should have str wis and sta. Ghoulbane should have str agi wis & stamina. Etc etc.

Also, cannot turn them into house items??

Please fix that coding.

Arbreth wrote:

Also, cannot turn them into house items??

This one is especially bad, because on the EQ2X Extended server, the players there on Bronze & Silver accounts don't have many choices on HQ items:

A. They can buy "item unlockers" from the SC Store, so that they can actually equip the item.

B. They can mount it in their house.

C. They can vendor it.

But now, thanx to the patch, they can't even mount it in their homes. Please fix this, SOE!

Be cool if they were made to grow stronger and level with you. Make more of a reason to do them, and keep them unique throughout the game. Does Journeyman boots still only give 10% run speed?

HQs should be best in tier items with just below easy mode raid quality but having a proc. So even a hard mode raider would want it until they got that slot filled in by raiding their first pass at easy mode.

I looked today after the patch and they added a second stat to some items, Greater Lightstone is now 13 wis 13 int 13 sta, but that simply isn't good enough. That still leaves scouts and fighters without a reason to do the quest.

Likewise I saw Ghoulbane now has agi/str/sta. But what about druids? They can use 1h slashing weapons, why shouldn't they have a good reason to use Ghoulbane as a weapon?

Dwarven workboots have 4 versions, but not one is any good for priests. Adding wisdom to the plate, leather and chain versions of the boots make dwarven workboots an item worth questing for for ALL classes.

I Still think all heritage quest and signature quest items should have stats useful to all classes that can use the item.

Slapping on + to all main stats + stamina doesn't affect the power of the items at all. It just makes it more widely useable and makes your players happier with the state of things.

Oh, look. Heritage quest rewards were fiddled with again and they are still worthless to most of the classes that do any particular one.

Want to do greater light stone? Why bother if you aren't a mage.

Want to do ghoulbane? Pfft. Might as well save your time if you aren't a plate fighter.

OH look! Fishbone earring is awesome now...if you are a mage.

Dwarven workboots 100% useless for any priest class.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they are getting looked at. They've been underpowered and mostly useless for a couple of years now for the most part. However, the current incarnation leaves much to be desired.

Heritage quest rewards & signature quest rewards need some real effort put into the retooling of stats. Thus far it just doesn't seem like that is happening.

My SK won't touch it with only agi on it. :/

I don't agree with ghoulbane getting wis for the druids though. It's a crusader sword through and through on lore.

STR/AGI/STA, WIS/STR/STA, WIS/AGI/STA, INT/WIS/STA I can see being the ideal groupings. str/agi for fighter/scout accessories, wis/str for plate, wis/agi for chain, int/wis for caster accessories, and int/sta for cloth... since no one else would ideally be wearing cloth but mages.

A few of the items were alright for their level even up to GU 61 if you didn't have a lot of coin to work with (GLS for example). The item update should have made them quite good for the level, and it did. But only for a very select few classes.

I think the hamfisted scripted model they appear to have used to update the stats to be more in line with current content fell far short of what it should have been. Really, there is no excuse for something to have four versions and yet have not a single one with wisdom.
