View Full Version : USA and EU Patch not matching

<p>The EU servers have been left out</p><p>it seems the patch on US servers is up and working and you can log in but if you switch to EU there is almost 2Gb difference and it does not let you log in.</p>

<p>Also updating with the US setting and then launching the game gives different splash (the new one) than when "updated" using EU setting (which reverts back to the old splash).</p>

I'm a TSR, these are the support forums.</p>

They are any red name without a TSR in front of it. Announcements are made on the announcement forum.</p>

I'm a TSR, these are the support forums.</p></blockquote><p>If someone could change the error message to reflect the fact that the servers were down, then people would probably 'haunt' a different part of the forum. But, as the error message indicates that there is a technical problem to login, they are here.</p>

I've put out a request and am awaiting a response with more information on the specifics.</p>

<p>Why would I try the launchpad when the station launcher is happily downloading the update? I will try it, if the servers are up after patching AND I get the login rejected. Meanwhile I'll just assume my game is updated after the 1.7GB download.</p>

<p>For people who like to go to select char screen to see when the <strong>Splitpaw</strong> server is coming back up:</p><p>Start the patcher, change region from EU to US at the top right. Once patched, close the launch pad. Edit your <strong>eq2_default.ini</strong> by replacing and/or adding similar (cl_lp_... is not in everybodies file)</p><p>cl_ls_address ableq2-04-01.everquest2.com amseq2-03-01.everquest2.com cl_player_cache_dir logincache-eucl_lp_region_suffix -eu</p><p>Run <strong>EverQuest2.exe</strong> directly. Login without entering a character name to get to character select.</p><p><em>*Ofcourse this will work for any server, but before swapping to another region please check your cl_* values in your eq2_default.ini file.</em></p>

<p>Oh well, true, 1.7GB downloaded for nothing... Got DoV splash and login rejected. Don't think I'll be downloading the full launchpad client though, but rather trying with station launcher again tomorrow.</p><p>Edit: interesting part is, it didn't download half that much when I chose US and let it patch... I also popped in game to check the new AA's, so the update was good.</p><p>Edit2: changed to US, it downloaded some 200MB and now I'm at the character select screen for EU -servers... I wonder what the 1.7GB was...</p>

It would be very cumbersome for hundreds of people (Splitpaw curently 184K or something) to rush for a time converter every time that want to see what time a post was posted or convert SOE times. As it is, I have to keep taking away eight which is mentally very trying!
