Is there a good summary somewhere of each classe's defining combat and utility skills?

Something like a super summary of the Wikia pages?

I don't play enough alts so I keep forgetting what is what or even sometimes I don't remember if a class is a Priest or Mage >_>

EDIT: Oh, this looks like a start http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Character...sing_Your_Class

EQ2Wiki and ZAM are the best places for some information. The in-game descriptions from character creation is also another place, but for more details on abilities the outside sites are the best places.

unfortunately, there are no good places to find information about the classes.

Sure you can find stats, and the game description of the classes. But you get no rundown of what a class is able to do.

Would rock, if each class forum, could write a, guide to what the class is all about, and sticky it.

The faq's that are there, just lists what's best and all... no explanation...

What we need is something that describes the class playstyle, what it brings to groups, solo and raid. What are the endgame expectations, and what can you do or tweak with the class.

Class rolls change so much in this game its impossible to put out an good informative post about them. Basically Healers heal ( what healer is the best at what could change with a GU). Same for all the other classes. It all depends on what class the Devs want to mat FOM.

Also, we are still waiting for the Class Manifesto, that Smokejumper said would be coming out with Velious in order to detail out classes and their roles. Soon(tm).

Thanks. I'm not looking for the class "roles" per se as that is player-defined versus actually skills and abilities. But that's another topic.

So I was looking for a class summary with specific defining skills. The Wikia page I linked to is okay but still uses vague descriptions like "light tank" and "tank-mage" for SK.

I went through each class page and now I realize I still don't know squat as there are also defining AA skills. >_>

Any idea why a pair of classes is separated from the other four in each of the four archetypes on this page? Where they added later?

http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Character...sing_Your_Class

That is why a pair is broken off.

To your overall question, its more a matter of doing some hard research, and looking at the class AA and spell areas of Wiki and ZAM. I also suggest some research at EQ2Flames, although the site has some of the best information out there, you might find yourself trudging through unnecessary posts and trolling to get to the gems of information. (alot of the good threads there are stickied).

Haha, they need to censor it then. Good sources of information come in many shapes and sizes. People can choose where they get it from, providing a roadmap and letting them decide isnt a crime.
