Station Launcher will not update

Just recently installed the game a few days ago and running on windows 7.  Have not had an issue thus far.</p>

<p>Do you have any firewall or antivirus (including internet security) types of software that you can disable to try it again?</p><p>We also have a newer LaunchPad available but it would be prone to whatever it is that is causing this for you as well.</p><p>Another thing to check is that you do not have a proxy setup.  Click Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections Tab > Click LAN Settings (near the bottom) > Ensure the Proxy Server options are UNchecked.</p><p><a href="http://launch.soe.com/eq2" target="_blank">[EQII] LaunchPad</a></p>

<p>I need help too!</p><p>My desktop crapped out, hard drive went.  So I got a really good laptop to play on until I figure out what I want to get in a desktop.  I'm running Windows 7 and I'm used to XP Pro.  I installed the game fom my disc (Sentinel's Fate Collector's Edition) figuring I'd just have to install a lot of updates, but I think I made a mistake going that way.  The launcher wouldn't work.  So I started to download that full version but canceled it because I realized it was installing the whole game again.  I then downloaded the streaming launcher and now I have 2 shortcuts on my desktop, one says streaming the other doesn't.  When I start the game the launcher is nothing like the one I originally had and it says it's preloading game assets, although the play button is green.</p><p>Can't I go back to the way I had it on my old pc?  I liked the other launcher.  Should I uninstall everything and just download the full version?  I feel like a n00b, I've never had so many problems installing a game before.</p>

<p>I too feel your pain, i reloaded DOV by disk and lost station launch, tho i tried looking up the download only to read sony no longer supports their launch pad, now in all the probs trying to find it i removed my short cut and can't get my launch pad up. Im hoping the link for the posted launch pad works. any thing i should do to make sure the download works?</p>

<p>You are bypassing the patcher, that message is only received with the client open.  You need to start the LaunchPad and let it patch, do not run the everquest2.exe directly on a patch day, it typically won't work until you've patched via the LaunchPad first.</p>

Pressing play button will give the above mentioned reject message after a bit.</p><p>Relogging and restarting launcher does not seem te restart patch.</p>

I get asked to do a full install or repair, i choose repair, it does a few bits and starts the game, the game is not patched and i get the same error message about my client don't match.</p><p>5. I delete the entire game and reboot pc, run the little launcher file as admin with no firewall and both trouser legs rolled up and select full install.</p><p>6. The bag of crap launcher still says client don't match.</p><p>I left this game a few years ago because of the pathetic update system, no other mmporg i have played has this kind of failure. Come on SOE, sort this once and for all. I can see my WOW account being reactivated at this rate.</p></div></span></p>

<p>I think you get a huge patch if you swap to US and then back (as the server is reversing you back to an earlier version?).</p><p>Most of the people in my guild who haven't patched to US get like a 5MB patch.</p><p>I have two EQ2 directories (1 for US, 1 for EU - well 3 if you count Testserver), and the EU one is lacking a lot of stuff.</p>

I got a 17mb patch earlier that's it. Oh and I also have 3 eq2 directories, EU , US and Test.</p>

This just goes to show that SOE are absolute useless at doing anything resembling correct. They can't fix all servers at the same time, USA then EU when they can be bothered. They can't make a patch that actually works without some kind of voodoo witchcraft and sacrificing the neighbours cat. The system lies as it says servers are working when they obviously are not. Customer satisfaction is not guaranteed as they don't really care as long as you live in the EU. I played EQ2 from the start and i accepted that problems would arise with a new game, that was 7 years ago, come on, you have had all the time you need to stop this crap from happening, it's not difficult, ask Blizzard. SOE rating out of 10..... not even good enough for a 0 I can see me closing my account and going to a game that actually works.

SMOKEJ just replied in the war of zek feedback thread with: 1) The EU servers are being updated and will be unlocked as soon as that update completes. It is taking longer than it should due to some communication issues with the servers in Amsterdam. Can we all petition for the "Communication Issues" to get hotfixed next. Y'know those issues they have communicating with Amsterdam every time.
