I am at my wits end, I cannot stand this any more.

For months now my control settings have been being changed every time I log into and out of each account I have and my mail autofill hasn't worked either.

Loading a saved setting does not fix it.

Until today, every time I switched from one account to the other (which now I have to do by camping to dt and reloading eq2 again to get to other account, thanks) my movement and other keys would be bound to weird keys.

For instance:

my cycle next UI would be alt-z

my toggle run/walk would be /

my loot method is changed or appears to be the same but actually declines everything, OR the setting is greed/accept and I do not get a choice to loot, only to CONFIRM that I want to loot an heirloom item.

All of my movement keys that I have set would be changed to weird combinations of crtl+<random key>, and letters like q, w, a etc (I use my numpad and arrows keys for movement, not any letter keys and absolutely no combinations of letters).

Today it happened to my accounts without swapping them, just logging in got them set to weird things, things I have never, ever had them set to. I do not know where they are coming from but I need this to stop because it is extremely frustrating and exhausting ot have to go through this at least once a day and often more since I change toons often.

The autofill on mail has not worked in a while but it does work for gifting SC.

I have posted in look and feel and got ignored, but I am seriously at the end of my rope now and NEED this fixed.

I do apologize for how inconvenience that must be. What we would like you to do is open a support ticket and attach your DXDIAG/MSINFO file and a description or copy of this issue. It doesn't appear to be a system issue but we just want the information on hand when we are investigating why this may be changing without your knowledge of it.

Uninstall the game. Shut down your anti-virus and reinstall in a location created by you (such as C:Games). Right click on the game icon, select Properties, Compatibility, and at the bottom of that tag check mark 'Run this program as an Administrator'. Next, go to where the game is installed (say C:GamesEverQuest II) and right click on the EverQuest II folder. Select Properties, and uncheck mark the Read-Only box (by default it has blue showing something is Read-Only) and click OK. And lastly, while still on that folder's Properties sheet click on Security, Advanced button, Owner, Edit, select your account login name for Windows, and click Apply.

Now try starting the game.

Wow, I have done everything, I am not computer illiterate I am VERY knowledgeable with computers.

It is NOT a compatibility problem, nor is it a problem with admin permissions, it is NOT on my end. It happens on any computer I play on because it is server side data.

I have reformatted both computers and reinstalled the game, because although I KNOW that the data being changed is on their servers I wanted to do everything I could to fix it on my end, even deleting my mail.dat's and .xml files from a completely NEW install.

You obviously have no clue what data comes from the servers, your solution is useless since it is not on my end.

This is not a client side issue (if it was it would not happen on any computer I play on), thank you for trying though.

So did you follow my post?

I thought I would post an update in case anyone else has problems similar to mine.

I did in fact put in a support ticket and it took a while to go through all the things I had already done to troubleshoot this issue we did finally get it fixed by having my data reset on the server.

Since that day I have not had a recurrance of the issue.

My mail address field still does not autopopulate when sending mail to peple I have sent mail to before, it does however work while gifting SC items, the previously used names autopopulate like they should, it is only regular mail that it doesn't work on.

So deadcrickets2 you were wrong and your advice was just more wasted time.

Thank you JoshuaM for pointing me in the right direction

Going to lock this thread up.
