<p>launcher will not launch game on with streaming or full. No im not on the guk servre either. I play on Nagafen or Mistmore(or some people call it permafrost) I was in-game eirler tonight on Nagy going instance groups and be hearing about Guk servers. While playing I was having alot of lag problrms, but just figured its just my comp. I have been trying to get EQ2 to load up so I can play again and all I get is the launchpad to do it sit there with a blank face and stare at me with no way to log into char slect.</p>

<p>Everytime since. I have the EQ2 icon on Desktop and on start menu. I use them both to launch the game. Ive never had a problem b4, but this past 2-3 day every time I try to open EQ2, it opens up at it just the SOE over a black back ground. Some time it just hangs for a min or two then goes to log in, some times just just sits there not doing anything.</p>

<p>I would recommend closing any open web browser or LaunchPad and uninstalling your existing Flash player.  Using Internet Explorer specifically, I recommend re-downloading the Flash player update I've linked for you below. </p><p><a href="http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe" target="_blank">Flash Player</a></p>

<p>I started having this same issue starting an hour ago this morning.  Game ran perfectly last night, but now after clicking play from the launcher, it just goes back to my desk top.</p><p>I uninstalled my own flash player and reinstalled the one you linked, but still the launchers (for both streaming and live) fail to actually start up the game play.</p><p>Let us know if there are any other possibilities to try.</p>

<p>Are you using map updater? May sound silly but I had the same issue starting about 2 wks ago but if I allow map updater to open eq2 for me it opens without issue. Not sure what the difference is or why it started doing this but it does.</p>

<p>At least I'm not the only one this is happening to. I launched the game using the station launcher and the patch went through just fine. As soon as I hit play... The launcher closes and I get to stare at my lovely desktop image. Checked the connectivity, turned off other programs I usually run, double checked the firewall... And used the old engineering trick of smacking the computer. Not sure what else I can do... Hopefully you figure out the bug soon. /fingers crossed</p>

<p>Also I 2box off the same comp, I can now run one instance of eq2, but still having trouble open a 2nd instance of eq2.</p>

It shouldn't make in differance though. Doesn't for me, anyway. Using maps or launcher, hitting play does absolutely nothing.</p>

<p>If you have already patched, and are not using the streaming launchpad, you should be able to run the everquest2.exe file directly and log in to play.  This bypasses the patcher so thats why you need to have already patched prior to using this method.  This is the same thing that is accomplished by clicking Launch in EQ2Maps updater.</p>

I tryed to reinstall the game, but all i get it the launcher window and thats it, just with the SOE blue logo, thats wher it stops. It it helps, i un xp, and never had to run admin on it b4, and not sure how, and not sure why it would change now. I was able to launce the game once this morning after the server came up, but stupid me loged of and now cant get back in.</p>

The problem was with Java, not Adobe Flash. Yea no easy button on this end .. just uninstall and re install flash wasn't the answer. Took more work than just gessing.</p>

<p>Well, its more than just Java. From my side anyway.</p><p>Uninstalled/reinstalled Java, Flashplayer, reinstalled launchpad.  Turned off firewall;   nothing works.... the only thing I have yet to do is uninstall and reinstall the entire game, and honestly, forget that...</p>
