I had issues installing EQ2 from the Sony Launchpad, so I switched to the streaming launcher. Worked great, was able to play the game while installing just like it said, but when my download hit about 8.5 gigs left, I started having issues launching the game. I'll hit the 'play' button, it'll close the launcer and the game shows up in my running processes, but nothing actually opens. Opening a new launcher tells me I'm already playing, and I end up having to use the task manager to end the game process to try again. Got it to work once, but now it won't work at all; download is at 5.2 gb remaining.

I don't know if it has something to do with the game not being fully installed yet or not, but as my internet is VERY slow (it's taken two days to get this far), I figured I'd ask for help now, see if anyone knows what could be causing this. If I'm going to have to delete it and reinstall it entirely, I'd like to know before I waste more time waiting for it to finish this installation. I'm running it on Windows Vista; I've tried chaging compatibility modes to XP and running it as an admin with no luck; the game is already installing to Public instead of straight to the C:/ drive, so I don't think it's an issue with that. As I said, the game worked perfectly yesterday, but today is having issues, and it's getting very frustrating.

As a secondary issue, the launcher also doesn't seem to want to start updating things. When I open it normally, it will bring up the 'Play' button, but will not start pre-loading and updating anything. In order to get it back to 'preloading game assets', I have to run the initial installer and 'repair' the launcher, so it'll start it up again -- this, however, does not fix my issue with getting the game to load, although the issues started at about the same time so I suppose it's possible they're related. Having found a workaround for this, it's less frustrating than the game refusing to launch properly, but if there's something I could do to make this thing work again upon a normal start-up, that'd be great.
