I press play and nothing happens.

<p>Hi there,</p><p>I've recently come back to EQ2, well in the last week.  I downloaded the streaming client and thus far I've had no problems with it, I was playing EQ2 fine last night.  So anyhow last night I signed off and started up the streaming client again and it was busy downloading the game assets.  Figured I might as well let it download the game whilst I was sleeping.</p><p>When I tried to start it up this morning I hit play and nothing happened.  Well there is still an active process called EverQuest2.exe in Windows task manager but EverQuest2 does not start up.  Just after I press Play the big green button says, Starting, then it says Playing and then the Straming Client Launcher vanishes and that's the last you see of it.  So I rebooted and tried again, still nothing.</p><p>I read a few posts here and disabled both my firewall and anti-virus (I'm using Nortons 360) but to no avail.  So below in subsequent posts are the technical details which you've requested from other folks when they post, DxDiag and MsInfo.  Any assistance you can provide would be magic.  I work with computers for a living so usually have no problems but this one has me stumped.</p><p>Kind regards,</p><p>Chris</p>

<p>Hi there,</p><p>Well this is odd.  As I was trying to post DxDiag information it was not letting me due to the length of the post.  So I was busily trying to work out how to cut it up to be less than the 20,480 characters when suddenly my EQ2 starts.  This was after about 10 minutes.</p><p>So let me know what you think.  FYI I'm not logging out ever, just in case it does not start up again :p</p><p>Cheers,</p><p>Chris</p>

Ahh, I think I know what is going on. When my character screen came up to choose a character it was busy downloading stuff (i.e. the little dragon was walking). I wonder if in the background it was busy downloading EQ2 but there was no indication save for EverQuest2.exe process in Windows task manager.

<p>Having exactly the same problem. If I delete the everquest2.exe process from task manager and restart the launcher sometimes the game starts straight away, sometimes it doesn't launch and sometimes it does launch after a few minutes wait. Doesn't seem to be any pattern to it.</p>
