I've been on the test server before, but its been a month or so since I last tried to login. Tonight I tried to login, but every time the client tries to launch it crashes after maybe 20-30 seconds with the following:

Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: EverQuest2.exe Application Version: 1.0.0.1 Application Timestamp: 4e4d7273 Fault Module Name: assetdb.dll Fault Module Version: 1.1.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 4ddaaa54 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 0000ccfa OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789

I am on Windows 7 and using the Station Launcher currently due to some issues with the old test launcher clobbering the launcher for Vanguard every time I try to get on EQ2 test. I tried to rule out the launcher and ran the EverQuest2.exe directly from the TestServer folder. It has the same crash behavior. I can still get on the live servers just fine.

If it helps, the product version string on the EverQuest2.exe in the TestServer folder is "CL[ 167405 ] Build[ 7946T ]"

Maybe just too simple. I crashed too at start.

So I changed minor things: start as administrator and not do anything until it zones your toon in (as in use other programs).

Maybe that works for you too.

Hello there. This topic has been discussed in several other threads, However, before you accuse me of just being mean and telling to you use the search function... I can share with you a work-around that has worked for me (so far) that I picked up in one of those other threads.

If you are using the station launcher (which I believe was what you said)

patch/update test (be sure auto-play is off)

But BEFORE you press the launch key, copy the assettdb file from your regular (live) folder and paste it in your test server folder (copy and replace or overwrite)

The launcher will have already done it scanning and updating so when you have finished the copy paste, you can just hit the Launch button and play test like you could before.

Yes this is a work around, and yes it is very very annoying, but so far it has worked for me, so I hope you have luck with this as well.

Good luck.
