Greetings,

I've just reinstalled the game. My 3 characters are camped in the same guildhall. I can log 2 into the game world, but the other is stuck at the "waiting for entities" loading for about 1 minute before returning to the character select screen.

Any suggestions how I can successfully log the character in? Is one of the files associated with the character corrupted and I should delete it?

Many thanks!

Here's our standard cache, configuration, and character specific data clearing instructions.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini

Stationname_characters.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II Extended directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:UsersPublicSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:

3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.

4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

Hi Joshua,

Thanks for responding so speedily.

I deleted the files as suggested - it allowed me to log in my stuck character but once only. I camped to desktop and logged back into the game but the character is stuck again at the "waiting for entities" part of the loading screen.

I decided to play with a low level character that I can log in with - however I get bumped to the character select screen every time I zone from zone to zone.

Are there other files I should delete and let the launchpad re-download?

Many thanks!

Just as an update:

Since I last played the games in mid-june this year (which ran perfectly) until reactivating my account several days ago, I am now using a new ISP and therefore have a new ADSL/ modem router by NETGEAR (DGN1000SP) - could there be something in the router settings causing the zoning/"waiting for entities" issues?

Its a modem/router combo, correct?

Hi Joshua,

Yes, it's a NETGEAR N150 Wireless ADSL2+ Router Modem DGN1000SP. Orange is my ISP provider here in the UK.

Regards
