I'd like to suggest that to bring more to pvp and add more uniqueness we take a page from Funcom's book.

If anybody has been following age of conan, they'd know about the planned addition of contested mobs meant just for PvP. These mobs ar supposed to be simple tank and spank but with a surplus of Hp and moderate damage, while spawning once a day in some of the game's zones.

Implemented into nagafen these mobs could drop unique pvp gear, for example maybe, blue slot equivilants of War Runes.

These contested mobs should be lvl 90 only and agro while spawning in various zones, maybe even in older tier zones for those who miss them for pvp.

Has potential but... would you fight this mob in pvp gear also?

I believe it wouldn't be too hard to have the same mechanic that makes pvp gear work in pvp to be used here.

I like the idea but personaly ditch the mob, its to much like what we have now with the towers int he WF the only diff being that the mob would hit back. A king of the hill or hold territory style match would work better imo. Have 1 spot in a random zone for each tier that would be the contested spot as it were. How to decide who wins would be a chore though as raw numbers would not work due to factions being lop sided to one faction or the other. Or just make the whole zone reward x2 for all PvP writs completed while in zone.

Personaly I would like to see the writ givers moved back out into the open world. Yes we had the Zerg but we have that now and it just happens for a short time at the WF. When the writ giver was up in KP the fights would last for hours. I remember going up there and being on cool down more than anything else but we just kept fighting. Half the time I would forget to pick up a writ cause it was just that much fun ( imo of course )

The whole idea came to me from noticing how theres a lack of "uniqueness" between pvp toons, adding some form of non grind oriented pvp that rewards things such as blue slot war runes would fix it. I mean, x2 the tokens is nice but how would that stay interesting to the general population once they get their gear? The war runes idea is just an example but it would promote those who already have them to stop other guilds/factions from getting them as well.

Give us our class sets back would be an option.

I like the part about giving us something to be more unique. I just dont like the delivery system of the mob. to me its just more PvE for PvP ala WF's.

As for keeping people out there. Well the ones that are on the server to PvP will stay those that would rather PvE will not. I will admit I did not spend all my time out there in TG. I still went and ran zones for those odd items like The Charm of the Lost that drops off the Jester in CoA and the Ever Burning Lava Stud out of DF. Sometimes I would head out there and there would not be anyone there and some of us would just be sitting around for a bit. We would go check the other zones like Fens, KJ and JW maybe find some maybe not. Head back to TG and hey there is a group and start fighting. The calls in chat would go out and in about 20 min or so 100+ Freeps and 100+ Qey and 50 or so Exhile in TG in a knock down drag out fight that would last for about 2-3 hours sometimes. Who was winning would swing from side to side as people would come and go we would start out in the writ room and work to the head of the ramp and down some times taking the fight all the way down to the docks. Then back up to TG. PvP will keep those that want to PvP out there not some artificial thing. The only reason WF's even work is you get a reward no matter what.

Maybe a few more ideas here to get the ball rolling as it were. We may as well dream up some ideas since I doubt things will get better anytime soon.

No more PVE/PVP mixing up. Tundra clearly showed that it is no fun to hit PVE mobs in a PVP environment. That is just stupid. Why should you famr PVE mobs for PVP items???

Hurricanus to Avatar of Below, contested mobs made its so people became passionate about pvping to stop the other guilds from getting loot.

Contested fights are always the best. It's not just a mob's items you want, people come out for the PvP. You didn't need warfields to stimulate any PvP activity then...the mobs themselves made the area, rather the entire zone, a battlefield.
