Is it just not in yet or do we need to do something to trigger the quest givers in the appropriate places?

I am waiting to. But no reply. I know it is supposed to be in this GU. As far as I know it is not even on test.

I haven't checked yet but the test patch notes on the 15th said the Beastlord event is there.

as of 10ish this morning I didn't find them. that leads me to think the patch didn't go to test(testcopy) yet.

Did anyone notice if the other changes were working maybe they are patching late. as a priest I don't really have enough haste on my current spec to test out the newer flurry cap changes but maybe a monk or something can chime in. =]

anyway I am logging back in, in a few minutes to check on it again...

How dare they be late to their first day of work!! HOW RUDE.

So, I just checked to make sure, and yeah, the data for the prelude isn't there. They're going to bring down the server and reapply the data, and they should be there when the server comes back up.

Sorry folks! Hopefully you'll be able to run through it soon.

They need to be easier to spot and/or in more locations. The second obstacle the bloodsand needs some type of targeting or name over it. Its really hard to tell what is truly bloodsand especially whenever the commonlands is 90% sand.

Looking good, but I'm blocked and now I want the rest of the story! A few things from a goodie:

1) There's some confusion over the NPC name, I suspect the typo is on the NPC itself. The NPC name ingame is Caalnia, but the patch notes say Caalina, and the dialogue on Yeomal says "Caalina" twice.

2) I like that you actually have to do a bit of searching for the totems (map RoI rather than being given PoIs), but they're easy to spot visually. Good balance there.

3) Taking the totems to Yeomal - the dialogue on Caalnia says to go to the Temple of Life. This is nice information, but it's not repeated in the quest step text, so if you missed it in the dialogue or forget, you can't get back this information. To be fair there's a map PoI for him, but might still be nice to have it in the quest step text as well.

4) Got as far as Nek beach. There's a square hatch on the sand with a sparkley in the middle, but I can't click it. This sounds like where you said it's broken for now then?

Finished the goodie version tonight. Here's some more feedback and a few buglets I found.

1) The hideout is cool. The mobs including the named one are all one-shottable at 90 on my fury, but I guess it's not supposed to be hard.

2) After the hideout, the quest step just says "Return the book to Yeomal". There's nothing in the text for the quest step to remind forgetful people (or anyone breaking off from the quest and continuing the next day) where he was. Ok I can remember it's Qeynos, but I'm searching the map to find the PoI, to find out it's North Qeynos I need to go to.

3) The emotes on Yeomal, when taking the book back. The 2nd dialogue step where he says "ah yes excellent!" he's doing the... eh whatever you call that celebratory emote, pulling a closed fist down through the air. But then the 3rd dialogue step he does the same emote again, and it doesn't fit the thoughtful dialogue of "Hmm... yes... this is useful". Just really stood out as clashing imo.

4) Sorry if I'm being dense, but after reading the dialogue on Yeomal about the cult corrupting the Truespirit, I have no understanding of what the Truespirit actually is. And I didn't play EverQuest so I don't have any prior knowledge of beastlords at all (and nor should that be a requirement for being able to understand the lore in this game!). It's just a name that keeps getting used, only sometimes it's singular "the Truespirit returns" and other times it's like a group of people "one of the Truespirit". Did I miss the explanation on his dialogue yesterday? Going back to the quest journal text doesn't help, it doesn't give anything about the story so far or the background, only your actions performed.

5) Collecting sundust in Antonica, the RoI looks identical to the one for the totems previously. However on the north of the plain there is sundust which is outside the RoI on the map, e.g. at:-520, -12, 100-500, -12, 33-437, -10, 11-355, -10, 14

6) The red book and feather icons on Ilfanul are way too high above the NPC. Looks very odd.

7) Ok so I'm told to go to a glade, there's no map PoI though. So I'm a bit confused and re-hail Ilfanul. He then repeats the whole dialogue as if he's not already spoken to you, starting from "Hello again. I have been anticipating your return" rather than giving you a recap one-liner just telling you where the glade is.

8.) He says the glade is behind him, but there's an impassable mountain behind him. Plus NPCs turn on the spot when you hail them, so "behind" is somewhat relative to where you're standing when you hail him. So I was totally confused. I was looking for a glade area in Thundering Steppes, but when I asked in test channel someone said to click on a rock. There's no mention of anything rock-related in the dialogue for good characters. It's in the quest step text, but I hadn't looked at that.

9) Ilfanul's Ritual - I had some trouble starting this, clicking to hail him didn't seem to work at first. Then I got some dialogue come up twice (from repeat hailing), and although I didn't click on the dialogue option offered it started anyway.

10) The wait between waves of corrupted mobs was very long, possibly because I'm level 90 and 1 AE kills the three mobs in a second. I know you have to tailor it to lower level characters as well, but could it be stepped up a bit? This wasn't exactly engaging for me.

11) For possible rewards, a ghost-deer house plushie would be nice. He is very pretty.

Ok and now I'm at the end, and the quest summary still doesn't tell me what Truespirit is/are. It's a fun quest and I enjoyed it, I just wish it explained the basic background lore as well as the current situation. Unless I did totally miss that yesterday, I can't remember. After a little googling it seems there's something in the Mystic epic questline, but I still don't really know what they are.

In the Commonlands I found that the pockets, while easy to see are few and far bewteen -- it will be pandemonium when it goes live. People will do what I did just camp a spot and wait for the pocket to respawn. No one wants to ride all over the commonlands. You need more pockets and faster spawns. The pockets are a lot more rare than the totems in Antonica.

I finished the quest just a few minutes ago on my level 42 wizard. I actually had a bit of a problem keeping up with the waves and had more than one wave at the end. That could have just been me, though because I never adventure with that character. She's my decorator/primary crafter so what gear and aa's she has is not exactly optimal. She's made it to 42 on holiday quests. I'll try it again with another non-90 character when I can and see if I have trouble keeping up.

I was unable to complete the good side with a level 15 conjuror who exists only on test. Her spells are very primitive - not even expert and she died constantly and ran out of mana.

Now maybe on live where I have high level alts to pump her up I could do it, but there were too many mobs attacking at once to kill them all. It was simply too difficult for a very low level character.

Now on the evil side I did it with my level 90 coercer, fully mastered and he blew everything away with one spell. ALso I think the quest is easier. Instead of having all the mobs attack at once, on the evil side you go to each stellae and kill the the 3 mobs surrounding it. That is much easier to do than defend Ilfanul who is being attacked. I could just go around to each stellae and wipe out the 3 mobs guarding it and destroy the stellae. All in all much easier to do.

EDIT: Lore question, what about the Vah Shir and Luclin? Will they get mentioned.? Is there a prelude event #2 - When will it come out.?

Ran the evil version on my little alt tonight. Nice how the story fits with the good version, for people doing both on alts. Found a few things, including a nasty gotcha in the instance!

1) Spiritual pocket at -676, -35, 160 is positioned on the terrain not above it, so it's half in the ground.

2) Dialogue on Ravinus the first time you visit him - you ask what to do (or something), then next he tells you about the bloodsands, and your response is "I will collect the items". The dwarven axe appears as another quest step, but I'm pretty sure there wasn't a dialogue step where he actually mentioned or explained the axe? I could be wrong and I just missed it, but I can't double check this as the quest step completed as I noticed it.

3) The axe is considerably beyond the map RoI on the beach, which is a bit confusing. Also it's in the middle of a load of aqua goblins, level 21 aggro mobs. I'm doing this on my level 19 necro and already died once reaching Ravinus earlier. Took two attempts at suicide runs to get the axe, and I only managed it because I'm a necro and pet could hold the mobs off for a few seconds whilst I clicked on it. Could you move the axe somewhere else please? There's a whole beach full of non-aggro mobs to choose from!

4) Returning to Ravinus, he says "by infusing these together" - this doesn't make sense. You'd infuse the axe with the bloodsand, or fuse the two together, but you can't infuse two things together! Your response to him says "fuse them together" so I'm guessing that's what his dialogue should say.

5) Ilfanul's Stand - I'm in there doing the evil aligned quest step. If I click on Ilfanual and hail him though, it starts off the good aligned encounter around him. Then you have extra mobs in the instance, and they're aggro. Once they've killed Ilfanul, you have about a dozen extra mobs in the zone, positioned around the druid ring. And they add onto you whilst fighting the mobs around the stelae.

6) Replica Ravinus is gorgeous - but not scalable. Can't make it bigger or smaller. Maybe worth someone checking the Replica Ilfanul for the same problem (I need to petition to get mine still).
