So I was kind of dreading getting my Gryphon because I knew once I got it I wouldn't be using my old ground mounts which I love the appearance of and I would be like 80% of the population with the same graphic mount.. Yeah the run speed is faster but its so convenient just to lift off in the air to get around obstacles.

What I was wondering if there's plans to be able to use carpets/clouds/tinkerfest mounts/disc's etc as appearances for flying mounts? Even the horses with the flaming and shimmery feet (look at the lavastorm horse that flies)

Or if there are plans to be able to /hide the mount while its grounded and show it when it lifts off again? Makes sense to me since the ground mount turns on and off when you fight if you have that option clicked..

Thanks in advance for any info

The other "flying" mounts don't have the animations needed for them to fly. You can currently hide *YOUR* mount (and ONLY yours) if you turn "Hide Mount In Combat" on, but that's only for you and only in combat. I really wish they'd let the mounts stay hidden for everyone on the ground though, in combat or not.

I always wondered what extra animations the disks and carpets would need for them to fly. They look like they are flying to me, especially if you run off a tall mountain with float enabled.

It's not a small amount of work.
