Greetings, I have searched through the tech support threads but still have questions.

I am still in trial for Live, about 10 days left, streaming client. Yesterday I began to freeze IG constantly, did several reboots but same thing. So I decided to go ahead and just sit at launcher and let preloading assets complete to see if that fixes the problem.

I am wondering if once I preload assets (assuming I can get to 100% - seems like some ppl hang up at 99%?) will the preload info be "saved" in the asset caches once and for all? Or if I exit game and re-launch, will it start preloading again?

I still have over 3 GB to preload (and with my connection that is still going to take a chunk of time) so if there's no advantage in going for 100% on the preload I could hit PLAY and see if I am still freezing up.

Also, wondering what would be involved with going back and opting for the "full" download - is that an option for me at this point?

Thanks for your help

Not sure how it would effect your remaining days of free trial, but the full download version of LP3 is much much better than the streaming version. All you would have to to is uninstall the streaming version, and download the full version...

And perhaps someone can give me a heads up on whether or not my trial period will remain in effect if I do so. (Hopefully it is simply tied to my account and not the client I originally DL'd)

Will try to log in after preload is complete, perhaps the freezing problem will be fixed.

I am fairly certain I will sub to EQ2 but want to play around with it a bit more.

Thanks Guss

While I do recommend the Full download version, it is not a seamless transition from our streaming launchpad. They use different file structures (streaming uses the asset_cache folder, while the full download uses a PAKS folder) and it will prompt a full re-download of the game from scratch.

Posting here because I have lost ability to start thread or reply on forums (other than my own thread).

Trial ran out, bought game and have applied activation code, now downloading full client. It is going to take a long time again - my question:

Is it possible to "stop" the download and then resume at same point? I have to go out of town tomorrow and realize that DL may not be finished in time.

Thanks

Edit: On second thought, since update is tomorrow I will just wait until after that goes live However, would still be good to know whether I can stop and "resume" DL

The LaunchPad will always pick up where it left off and at worse may restart the file it was currently on.
