Super frustrated after trying to troubleshoot this issue myself. When I start up the eq2 launcher it gives me an error of "Unable to Retrieve Assets From Server. Please try again in a few minutes". It has been days. Ive even deleted the game from my harddrive and reinstalled the game and it still gives me the errors. Ive tried with and without a router. Differant ISP's with no success.

This all happened when I left the game running for an hour and when I came back to the game... my computer froze. So I restarted the computer and tried to start the eq2 launcher and I got this error. Now I did install the game on my desktop that is connected through a lan line and it plays eq2 just fine, but I like my laptop while I let my guy play on my desktop. Please help.

Files may have become corrupt when the computer froze. I've included our standard instructions for clearing the game cache and configuration settings. If this does not resolve the issue, let me know and we can continue to troubleshoot.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini

Stationname_characters.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II Extended directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:UsersPublicSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:

3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.

4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

Still having issues. Even deleted the entire game from my laptop and redownloaded the game with no success to fix the issue. Then I did a system restore to the day before I started having issues with the launcher and that had no success.

Which patcher are you using? I've linked our latest LaunchPad for Everquest II below just in case. Use the Full download version and direct the installer to re-use your existing EQII game folder.

[EQII] LaunchPad
