I was just wondering why the guide quests cant just be a NPC, like on EQ2X or the Test servers?

I play on Everfrost and Butcherblock. On Butcherblock, I seen that a guide posted that they will be there on 8-4, but nothing for Everfrost. i realize they dont have to post when they are showing up. but it would be nice to not miss out on the quests.

I am also on Everfrost and agree with OP; why can't the catalog quest for the Tinkerfest statue, and the gather items quest for the Tome of Tinkering be on an NPC quest giver available 24/7? Thank-you.

Yeah. NPC quest givers would be nice for the special events ones. It's fun when you can catch a guide on, but they don't seem to be as active these days. For the regular guide quests that can come up anytime, you can eventually catch them but for the special events, thats difficult to do unless you have lots of guides throughout the days/nights of the event.

But then they wouldn't be special guide quests any more. They'ed just be quests.

If you don't think there's enough guides, or that they're not active enough, why not volunteer!

Having both during the dates that the holiday runs would be great. That way Guides can still rp with players/and vice versa, and peeps that can't be on at the times the Guides show up, can still grab up those quests during the holiday.

(Of course, having the quest npc be up all year round would be even better.... but at least having an npc during the holiday run time would guarantee you can always get that quest.)
