This is a general error which can be encountered in a variety of ways.

Walk me through your login process. Which patcher do you use, what file or icon do you use to launch it, and what folder is it installed to?

I have the same problem, constant crashes to desktop with the same error message. I have updated my video and sound drivers and added directx 9.0c but to no avail. Its very frustrating because im on the 14 day trial and would love to pay for the subscription as i do like the game from what little i have seen, but since it is impossible to play the game i guess i will have to abandon the idea

i dont have a prob with WOW or Rift.....has to be ur game, and im very sorry about that as i would have loved to play it.
