How about a fairly large caiman mount that gives bonuses to swimming, but walks slowly on land. Could give +swimming skill, %increase in swimming speed, underwater breathing, and aquavision.

Then we'd just need some sort of large underwater zone to use it in.

Would be interesting, but there is some kind of code that makes mounts disappear in water that would have to be worked around.

I would say that underwater world in EQ2 is poor, I mean, really poor, not to say totaly empty.

While this sound like a great idea, what's the interest of it if there's nothing to explore, no where to discover a fantastic world under water?

They would have to rethink actual water population and even add more underwater content ...

^ Back before the overland zones were turned into solo zones, you couldn't swim 3 feet without being attacked by something new in Antonica.

I miss the original Everquest for this idea~

The Plane of Water was fun, as well as the actual thrill of possibly being attacked by a supposed Dragon whilst in TImorous Deep (I think it was Timorous -- might've been Ocean of Tears.) The rumour was that there was indeed a dragon mob in the ocean somewhere and that it could attack you (and no, not thinking of the druid epic one on the island.)

Maybe it was just a rumour, but I enjoyed it as such anyways Always made swimming a thrill in the game for me, especially given that falling off the boats back then was so common.

Yes, they need things in EQ2 in the large expanses of water that are everywhere. Dreadwake in Everfrost was a good start, but waaaay to close to the lowbie docks to really be anything more than a nuisance.
