Ok I wont post anymore questions today except this last one. As far as shamans are concerned, what is the big difference between mystics and defilers? I know a lot has to do with the person playing in what makes a class better but I am just wondering why defilers are in a lot more demand it seems then mystics. I am thinking of betraying and I just wanted some input maybe from others who have betrayed. Thanks =)

I see there is another thread going atm with the same subject. Basically, Defilers have always been the more defensive of the two shamans. Mystics have more melee ability, while the Defiler has more tools to deal with incoming spike damage and AOE healing. It appears, to me at least, that the Defiler has been designed from the bottom up to be a MT group healer, while the Mystic makes a very capable OT group healer - good DPS capability for those slacker moments but can step up to the mark for when the OT has to gather the adds up.

There has been a lot of defilers betrayed away to be Mystics over the last year, a lot of which is probably the result of ongoing discussions on EQ2Flames about the perfect raid setup. One of the top raiding guild leaders has stated that all raid content can be dealt with using a combination of only Inquisitor and Mystic healers, which they probably can when everyone is geared out with the top Fabled drops. As far as I am concerned, Defilers always have been and always will be top dog shaman for MT group healing, but they are a swine to level up solo!!!!
