Just curious if we are going to see some kind of prelude event to the rebuilding? Is there going to be a disaster (outside of West FP) that facilitates a need to be rebuilt? Are we as players going to get to help in the rebuilding process or are we going to go to sleep one night and wake up to a brand new city with brand new architecture? I know were still a few months out but I did notice a Beastlord prelude that was mentioned but haven't seen anything about FP.

The "Rebuilding" of Freeport has been seen in the game now for the last year. The whole Kidnapping of Lucan and the strife that it brought is the reason why it's being rebuilt. As for Qeynos, who knows?

Here's the direct link.

EQ2 Panel #6 — Content and Zone Design

Just as Cusa mentioned, the rebuilding of Freeport is because Lucan was kidnapped, and Freeport took a pretty big hit. The different factions within Freeport started to fight amongst themselves for power over the city, and you get what we see today.

Now that Lucan is back, he's going to unify the city showing everyone who's boss again, stop the infighting, renovate Freeport, bolstering the economy and basically making it a city that the citizens can be proud of again.

Hopefully that means planting Evil looking plants or Beautiful but deadly plants rather the the dead plants they have now.

I still am wondering what motive Qeynos will have. (Hmmm that reminds me the two Burroughs that Humans used to begin in, Nettleville and Starcrest, always looked the worst off, like they had been blasted ruins, the others actually looked decent)

Shield project cause cause major damage and the city needs to be fixed?

Orcs pull a Twin Blackburrow/Qeynos Invasion? (Causing the Qeynosians and the Gnolls to Grudgingly ally with each other with Anti-Qeynos hold outs no live in the Steppes) And adding a place for the Gnolls to call home within the walls to help defend against Orcs.

A Hurricane full of Necromatic Energy?

Survivors of the Knights of Thunder return and try to regain good will and donate money for the rebuild?

Silent Fist mention that the Geomancy for the City is off and a rebuild is needed to keep the mana from doing something disastrous? (Not to mention make a larger Silent Fist Dojo that is a Quest Hub for Monks-Fight Club Brawlers-and Beastlords? and a New Official Leader since the old one is occupied as Quellious's Mouthpiece?)

Sorry my Imagination is running away with me again.
