I know when I got my Gateway dual processor and had a speed bug that I could turn off a processor and it would stop it. Now I have a quad processor and windows 7 and get bad fps rate and was wondering if I turned off a processor if that would help. But every time I turn them off like I did with xp it just restarts them. Is there away to do it or a program that will do it?

thank you

Because of the way the load is distributed you might not see any improvement disabling a core. What kind of setup do you have? Can you post your DXDIAG? Perhaps there are other suggestions we can provide as well.
