I downloaded the new launcher not too long ago. I just noticed I can no longer log in to LON(/lon hit enter and get an error), and act does not seem to be working, not sure if they are in anyway connected?

Thanks

For LON, you might not have checked the option to download the in-game LON client.

For ACT, most likely the game isn't installed in the same place as before so the log file path ACT's using isn't right anymore. Check in options for where the game's installed and change ACT's paths to match.

Got the LON working now. thanks Jrral!!

My ACT will not work every time I load it it says your current log file has not been log in over two weeks make sure you have the correct log file? I used the wizard and it lets me pick the log file ( I thought it was the server name) but all that pulls up is every character that has ever logged on this computer. One of the characters has dates after his name so I picked the most recent and the same think happens. It had been a while since I played, I updated the act to the most recent version it is set to eq2 English.

Any help would be much appreciated.

First, the logfiles witih dates after them are inactive, created when ACT automatically renamed a logfile that'd gotten too big. You want the ones that're just plain eq2log_character.txt. They're in a subfolder under logs named after the server. Also, ACT should be set to automatically switch log files to whichever one's active. It's in the Miscellaneous screen of the Options tab, right underneath the logfile name.

Then, check the game and path. Your symptoms sound like either the game isn't logging to a file, or ACT isn't pointing to the folder the game's using for it's logfiles. Make sure when you log in that the game says it's logging to a file and gives the filename. If it isn't, use the /log command to turn on logging. If the game isn't logging, ACT has nothing to parse. Then right-click on the icon you use to start the game and check the path of the target against the path given on the Miscellaneous Options tab. If the two don't match, go to open a new log file and browse to the logs/server folder under the path the icon's pointing to. DO NOT assume ACT is right, assume the icon is right. If the icon doesn't point where you expect it, the icon's pointing to the running game instance and you've gotten the game installed in an unexpected place (this can happen, especially with the streaming client).
