I have several questions but I think all of them would result in my being perma-banned from these forums. Forums need less strict mods imo. It's almost like if anything not "huggy feely cuddly" is posted, that gets deleted and the user gets a warning. It's kind of unsettling. I think that's why all the really good, HELPFUL, info gets posted on off-brand website forums.

I just choose not to insult devs and their mothers, try to claim they're just here for a paycheck, say they're the 'worst developers in the industry', or any of the other tripe that gets rightfully deleted. If you are attacking other players, calling them worthless scrubs, yeah it's going to get deleted.

I think the forums are undermoderated these days, as obvious trolls are allowed to post freely.

The days when you couldn't post anything unless it was 'cuddly' and positive ended when Gnobrin and Grimwell moved on.

Just point out obvious flaws in programming and request fixes. Then get posts deleted due to pointing out said flaws due to they portray the company in a less than stellar light.

Ohya. Then get "hate PM's" from the mod(s) saying "Stop posting stuff that doesn't make our company look good or face a ban".

In fairness, it used to be REALLY bad when Kiara was here due to she was the worst moderator in the history of the EQ2 forums and, since she's left, the people getting banned / posts deleted has diminished by a MASSIVE amount so things are definitely looking up. It's still bad though

Let's not derail Jethal's thread with a discussion about moderation, pretty please.

Ok. Here's my question for Smedley then.

"Why has experienced been so massively nerfed into the ground on overland mobs? I ask due to the amount of experience you used to get from training around and killing tons and tons of mobs used to make overland zones fun for PLing in that fashion. Nowadays it's pointless and you'll see that most of Antonica, Commonlands, Nektulous Forest, Thundering Steppes, etc etc etc are generally empty zones with tumbleweeds blowing through them. The reason for "that" is due to most people tend to now do their PLing by killing tons of mobs inside dungeons with higher Zone Experience Modifiers. I find that it seems to take away from the game to have massive zones generally always devoid of people for this reason. I remember back in the good old days (before Pillars of Flame) when people used to enjoy running around overland zones and bumping into each other, grouping and having fun, etc. Any plans to "up" the experience on overland mobs anytime soon?"

Here is my question, and I apologize it isn't positive but...

Why would you allow that mess of a world event to go live? It was a disaster that caused a lot of people to feel awful over it. There really isn't any way to acquire the tokens after the fact, and it isn't fair that people couldn't participate in what was a 24 hour event on AB. A lot of people didn't get quest completion and the items on the merchant while reduced, are still prohibitive. Put the fedex quests back in for those who didn't get a chance.

And please fire whoever is in charge of the QA department. This going live as badly as it did... well... doesn't instill confidence in your playeerbase. Why shouldn't we play another game such as rift where they seem to care about their playerbase?

And can we stop making every [Removed for Content]' new thing an SC purchase? Please?

More bonus points for realizing the questions were posted both here "and" at the site in the OP's link. Most likely posted here also for posterity.

OOPS!

Jethal's site doesn't particularly like my macbook. And Jethal, yes I know the shinies are still there. Unless I try at 5 am I'm competing with several people to collect them. And honestly, nothing is more boring than running around in circles to collect something that SHOULD be attainable via quest. I like to quest. I don't like to waste what little time I do get to play doing something incredibly boring.

Just wanted to state that, some of the comments being sent in for my interview with John Smedley may actually be better suited for Dave Georgeson, the Producer of EQ2.. Dave is in direct charge of EQ2. But, don't worry, your comments are not being buried, I'll pass them on to Smed..

that being said.. be warned that we've recieved A LOT of questions and comments from people all over the place.. some good, some bad.. and unfortunately, far too many to get them all in the show - i think. We're gonna cover as much as we can in the time we have, and I promise you, every email I recieved will be given to him.
