Not sure if it belongs specificially to this forum, but anyway:

is there any chance you will continue to make regular updates to this client and related web pages?
Our support for that client, and Station Launcher, is very limited at this time. We do have an up to date LaunchPad available and a non-flash version on it's way. I would recommend the Full download version linked below and specifying it to re-use your current, existing, EQII game folder to avoid redownloading most of the game.

[EQII] LaunchPad

Thanks for info!

This launcher, naturally, comes with a EQ2 DVD I purchased 6 years ago and it served me faithfully all these years.

But I have several concerns about this "new" launcher:

1) everyone know streaming client is buggy (I tried it myself back in the SF beta days, I think)

2) you have to re-download the whole game because streaming client uses the new data format incompatible with old-fashioned data files and streaming client was unable to reuse any of already downloaded data... most annoying!

3) there will be no Music folder left one can use to sync favorite EQ2 tracks with USB player :/

There's a launcher for the streaming and for the normal client, it just not possible to tell which is which from the look of them. You have to check the download page to get the correct one.

The difference is in the file structure. The streaming client has an asset_cache folder and the Full download version (and our previous patchers like Station Launcher) have a PAKS folder.

But yes, if you use the Full download version it is not streaming and you will not have to re-download the game files as long as you specify, during installation, to re-use your existing EQII game folder.

My packs directory now is 12Gb roughly. Full launcher download is... 12Gb download as well. What a coincidence. So it does not count as re-downloading the whole game? mehehe Okay, I would stay with the old client at the moment, thank you.

TSR-JoshuaM wrote:

The full launcher download is 4.5MB.

I used the link you provided and it says: "Full - 12.4 GB initial download of the entire game". I do not have patience nor enough traffic left to test if it's indeed 12.4 GB or less

Okay, thanks for clarifying it, the download text was misleading. At least you still support non-streaming client, which is good. I might want to try new client out someday. Though envy of other players concerning my vintage launchpad is what makes me want to keep it
