This flash player problem is absolutely ridiculous. Follow me through this timesink I have been dealing with for the past 2 days now:

Launcher would not load past the SOE logo when I launch the game (which had been working perfectly fine as of Monday this week).

I uninstall the game and all files associated with it. Reinstall. Nothing.

I do it again. Shut down. Reboot PC. Nothing.

I post to the tech forums here and am told my flash player may not be most current. Ok.

I uninstall adobe flash player and download the file linked in the forum reply. This worked. Yay.

After logging in and redoing all my user settings and playing for a few I log out to test and make sure my issue is resolved.

Try to log right back in (after changing nothing outside the game) and old issue again. Log in screen with SOE staring at me.

Now I'm [Removed for Content].

After this I uninstall flash player and reinstall as before. Nothing.

Uninstall game and reinstall. Nothing.

Uninstall both and download streaming client. Nothing.

Unistall that and flash player and go to flash player site directly to download newest version they have avail (10.3.something...) and launch the game. Launcher says I do not have the most current flash player? [Removed for Content]?

Ok so I hit install flash player FROM THE LAUNCHER WINDOW. It installs, so it says, and nothing.

[Removed for Content] is going on here? Is the stupid flash crap really necessary? How can I get to an older launcher that doesn't use flash so I can get into the game that I pay to play?

And if the flash is so necessary to the launchpad shouldn't it install update and load correctly directly from the launcher so there are no problems like this from it's use?

Point me in the right direction so I can get in the game and off these forums.

Wow 9 days and no answer for you yet, eh?

I just posted the same question today, I guess I shouldn't expect an answer either.

I had just re-subscribed today, too. I suppose I may have to call tomorrow and get my money back & cancel again.

The tech support forums cannot always ensure a TSR response as I do have other job tasks. I do try my best to be here as much as possible as this is my game of choice too and I care about the community a great deal. I do apologize as no one should feel overlooked but I can assure you that it was not my intention.

As for the issue itself, first we do have a non-flash version of the LaunchPad on it's way but I don't have an ETA at the moment. Next, this is typically a mismatched version of Flash or an issue with it like corruption or anything along those lines.

Let's just rule out the basics first. Uninstall your current Flash player and re-install using the link below.

[Flash Player]

Note one additional thing: it's not sufficient to just have the Flash player installed, the Flash control must be installed and set up correctly in Internet Explorer. This primarily affects people who installed Flash using Firefox, in which case Flash isn't installed for IE. To fix this you have to download Flash using IE, which gets you the correct version and installs it in the correct places. This bit me, since I never use IE for browsing.

I did not have to do that and I use Firefox as my default browser, I've never opened IE on this PC, but I am sure this may help others.

If you go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ it'll tell you the version of Flash you've got installed in your browser. If it's a corporate PC someone may have pre-installed Flash into IE, in that case that page will show different versions of Flash for IE and Firefox.
