Installed the Station Launcher on my new laptop. Downloaded the game for hours (couldnt find some old disks to get a head start on the updater). Ran the launcher as administrator, unblocked the firewall & virus software. Yet when I click "Launch Game" it says launching but nothing happens and then reverts back to "Launch Game" a couple mins later. This is so irritating as I travel a lot and tried to get this set up on the new laptop before I left but now im stuck in some #&$ town with no good bars for 2 weeks and cant get on the game.

Please Help !!!

I believe you are using our older patcher. Please download our latest LaunchPad for Everquest II linked below. If your current EQII folder has a PAKS folder, download the Full version and direct it to install a new copy re-using your existing EQII game folder. This will avoid having to re-download the entire game as they share file structures.

[EQII] LaunchPad

Well I've been playing w/ the old blue station launcher for years and my desktop can still log in using it. Now I go to this link you sent me to and it wants me to re-download 12.5gb that I already downloaded before I left home after I installed the Station Launcher. This is rediculous.

It uses the same files as Station Launcher.

I have been unable to access the Test/Test_Copy servers since the patch yesterday, with this very same issue. (Hit Play, and the launcher goes away, but the game doesn't launch.) I have done a delete and reinstall. Nada. I have redownloaded the launcher at the above link and pointed it to my Test directory. Nada I have stood on one foot, bayed at the moon and hit the enter key. Nada, though it was an amusing addition to my Friday morning yoga practice.

I am still just fine with my Live server install, and can log into there just fine. It is only Test, and only since the GU61 patch yesterday. Since I kind of, sort of need to test the crafting stuff before it goes live, I'm a sad halfling. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Edit: To clarify, by "nada", I mean no game launch, no sign of it anywhere in task manager, etc.

~Mum

Once you log in to it, click options and change it to Test which is at the bottom of the drop-down list.

Unfortunately at times things they push out to test may cause the older launchpads to lose function temporarily. I was just in there looking at my new Berserker sub-class tree with the streaming LaunchPad myself.

[EQII] LaunchPad

Thanks for the tip!

I tried the assetdb.dll copy from the Live directory to Test, and the patcher simply overwrote it again with the 5/23/2011 version that was in the Test directory ... and wouldn't load the game.

I tried the streaming launchpad from my Live install, swapping the loc over to Test and re-repatching everything. Again, got through the patching, got through the preloading of assets, hit Play, and ... nothing. It flashes that it is starting the game, closes the launchpad, and then nothing. I reinstalled the linked launchpad for the third time today. Still no joy.

I then tried waiting until the launcher was done checking files, swapped in the older assetdb.dll file, hit play and ... a solid five minutes later I suddenly had Test loading! Massively insane delay between hitting play and when it finally started visibly loading the client, but it worked.

Might be a "good thing" to warn 'em that there's something flaky with that file for some folks.

Thanks!

~Mum

I'll see if I can reproduce it as well.

Mum~

You're a genius with the idea of waiting til the patcher is done, then copying. That worked like a charm! I'm in, but I bet I'll have to do that each time til the fix is in.

Thanks for figuring this out, Mum! It takes awhile to start up, but at least it finally started. Of course live takes forever to start up as well, so that wasn't a surprise.

As a side-note, I'm still having to do this every time I want to load Test (so I now keep a copy of that file on my desktop for easier juggling), but at least I'm able to load Test now!

Just a note, Zoltaroth said Test was patched yesterday, but this is still an issue. It's a pain to do. Can we get this fixed?

This is still an issue for several of us with the most recent Test patch (SOEBuild=7915T).

Each and every time I want to log onto Test now, I have to fire off the launcher, let it patch, then replace the assetdb.dll dated 05/23/2011 with the assetdb.dll dated 04/05/2011 from my live client directory before I hit Play. Otherwise, the game doesn't load at all.

~Mum

Would you please open a support ticket and include your DXDIAG/MSINFO information? No matter what I try I cannot reproduce this issue. Include your current patcher version numbers as well (click info from the launchpad).

Done, sir! I hope it helps them figure out what is squirrely, since the issue is still persisting today.

Ref #110812-001078

Thanks for trying to sort this one out!

~Mum
