View Full Version : How we will face Kerafyrm

Here is how it's all gonna go down:

First off, Kerafyrm is crazy strong, so we as the people of Norrath cannot hope to defeat him by ourselves, he's just too dracogrious. We'll have to have help. You see, the final fight with Kerafyrm won't simply be just a simple raid. No my friends, it will have to be an amazingly large PQ. We will assemble on the battlefield prepared to taste his furious flavors of flame.

First he will send in the giants of Kael, with their grand weapons and large shoes for stomping. If we are successful in defeating the first wave, then there will be a brief pause in the fighting whilst we catch our Norrathian breath and try to regain our composure.

Before we are ready, the next wave will roll in. This wave will have the elite guard and a General. The general will be a lengthy fight, for his health is as large as the ocean of tears, and as deep as my love for nunchucks. If the brave adventurers of Norrath are able to bring this general to the ground, then we shall dance upon his corpse and sing songs about our excellent fightings and bashings and castings.

Don't get too comfortable, because here comes Kerafyrm! He's angry because you insult his prismatic-ness by daring to stand against him. He will fly into view like a star falling from the skies above. As he grows larger, fear will randomly cast itself upon everyone in the raid, even the mighty crusaders who are specced fear immune... for their training never prepared them to face the Majesty of Kerafyrm, the Awakened. As his glowing form draws closer, we will soon realize that he is not a normal raid mob, because his size and scale or ridiculous. He has grown alot since he's been awakened. Clearly we do not stand a chance against this mighty foe.

Boom. Nagafen shows up. He says "Boom." because he knows his timing is epic. Sure Nagafen may be smaller than Kerafyrm, but like Yoda, size matters not. Nagafen spreads his wings and shouts something in Draconic that sounds similar to "Hakuna Matata", and with a thunderous howl, his entire brood of fledgling-prismatic-dragons appear seemingly from out of nowhere. They all land near the adventurers of Norrath, and we mount them. Yes dudes... we will ride baby prismatic dragons to fight Kerafyrm. Imagine the glorious splendor that is you, riding a freaking dragon, and not just any dragon, but a flying prismatic dragon that shoots rainbows lightsabers from its eyes, and breaths angry-death from it's mouth. We fight kerafyrm, peopel fly up and attack various parts of him. His head is invulnerable, but you must attack each wing, and his tail... (They act as raid mobs in that they have independant HP bars), once all 3 are down you can attack the head. If you beat him, at 20% he'll retreat, and threaten youall that this is over.... for now! (It'll start again in an hour).

This event will go on for a week. People who beat him will have a chance to get a prismatic dragon mount.

DICLAIMER: I totally made this all up, but I think this is how it outta go down.

You know what I think would be really cool? Think back to one of the obelisks, how we take over the bodies of 6 prisoners in order to kill a named NPC. How cool would it be if a raid of players took over as Norrath's gods and fought Kerafyrm that way? The story would be set up so that the final battle was inevitable. The only ones who can stop Kerafyrm are the very gods themselves. Every existing god, lesser diety, and demi-god. They decide to all gather together and agree that regardless of their own differences, they must battle together in order to ensure their own survival. To play this out, the players themselves would be chosen to play as certain gods corresponding to a certain god. The condition being that the raid force itself *HAS* to consist of exactly one of each class. Now, this is all just off the top of my head, so... One player takes control of Mithanial Marr, the Paladin. One player takes control of Rallos Zek, the Guardian. Sullon Zek is the Berzerker Tallon Zek is the Ranger (since Tallon uses a bow) Vallon Zek is the Assassin (strategy plays a key role in an assassin's job) Rodcet Nife is the Templar Anashti Sul is the Inquisitor Tunare is the Warden Master Wu the Enlightened is the Monk Solusek Ro is the Wizard Ayonae Ro is the Troubador Quellious is the Illusionist Cazic Thule is the Necromancer (Fear and all that) Bertoxxulous is the Warlock Druzzil Ro is the Coercer A member of The Tribunal or The Seventh Hammer is the Mystic Innoruuk is the Defiler Bristlebane is the Swashbuckler Ulkoruuk is the Brigand Grasping at straws at this point since I'm running out of major dieties and appropriate classes. Erollisi Marr is the Fury Brell Serilis is the Bruiser (he's been drinking a few too many and is feeling mighty surely.) Umm... Can't think of an appropriate deity to serve as a Dirge, Conjurer, or Shadowknight... Anyways, that's my concept. It makes sense, because if the gods fail, they all die, and we all die shortly after. If they succeed, then they have the combined strength to ensure the universe doesn't get destroyed in the process.

Mighty and Venekor together makes me laugh. Unless they decide he is really dead, I would like to see him finally do something important sometime, that doesn't get us mad at him. They never even explored the Trakanon/Toxxulia being his parents thing.

You know, it would be kinda cool if the entire raid was forced into avatars for that fight. Certainly it is something that has never been done before. We've seen a couple cases where one player gets to control an avatar for a raid fight (Gozak, Ione), but never the whole raid.

Doing that would allow you to make Kerafyrm L100, and the avatars L94 or so.

I'm in.

How would it go? Lets see.

Mayong has been plotting, long and hard. He planted the seeds long ago, placed his agents, made us his pawns...

The Cult of the Awakened have their mightiest warriors defending the deepest vaults of the Temple of Veeshan, where Kerafyrm has retreated and sealed himself months ago. Kerafyrm doesn't answer any of his generals or advisors that try to gain his attention. Rumors circulate that Kerafyrm has arisen as a god, has left his body to fight Veeshan on the spirit plane, is plotting to destroy the minor dieties of Norrath, has gone stark raving mad, is awaiting Veeshan's return, is slowly being consumed by the new powers he has gained, is slowly mastering the powers he has gained. Nobody knows for certain but his most loyal minions guard the vault.

Mayong's agents have penetrated the defenses and he himself has examined the seals upon the vault. Mayong has devised a way to enter the vault without breaking the seal. Mayong tells us that the seal protects Norrath from whatever is going on inside. He says that the hero's of destiny must battle Kerafyrm to save Norrath, and those heros are you. Nobody is sure if they should trust Mayong, but there is no other path into the vault. Reluctantly we agree.

After defeating all of the guardians in the Northern wing, we approach the vault and Mayong casts the spell to transport us within the vault itself. Inside it is as if we have traveled to another plane of existance. Space itself has been twisted and warped by Kerafyrm. Left alone with the power of Oblivion Kerafyrm has gone quite mad. Aside from a few floating collums there is no ground, no sun, no darkness. A great nothingness except for fleeting visions of Kerafyrm and floating prismatic clouds. After destroying a few of the collums (1-4) Kerafyrm takes notice of your intrusion and his head forms. Kerafyrm is like no dragon seen before. His head shines like opal except for his eyes, which look like twin portals to hell. At first Kerafyrm's head attacks with breath weapon alone, occasionally knocking away those around it. As the fight grows more serious his claws and wings appear. Eventually he withdraws his head and attacks with 4 claws. Once his claws are broken Kerafyrm withdraws from the vault, the power of Oblivion holding everyone in thrall as it eats away at our existance.

As the magical forces that Kerafyrm stole threaten to engulf us, Mayong steps forward carrying two swords. The field of energy focuses on Mayong the two swords glow ever brighter until...one explodes. Mayong is thrown quite a distance but manages to keep hold of the remaining sword. Each of you feels a burning sensation, like something has burned itself into your soul. Mayong laughs and says "The power of one is enough for me. It seems you got more from this bargain than I intended, but split amongst you all that power pales in comparison to my own. Remember that, never even think to stand against me."

With that Mayong opens the seal from within the vault and reality replaces the realm Kerafyrm created. A broken and burned stone vault appears around you, a small hord of treasure tucked into a grand chest. There is no sign of where Kerafyrm retreated to, or of Mayong by the time you reach the vault doors.

In my opinion, the battle really needs to involve major players in some form. Yelinak Mayong, the Duality, and Nagafen all being front runners for making appearances, as well as the crusaders of skyshrine if they have not died in our timeline...they being the children/replacements for the four warders that originally served to maintain Kerafyrm's prison.

In the end of this major event though, I hope that:

Mayong is perma-deaded/gotten rid of/returned to wherever he came from in some way, forever.

Nagafen loses whatever clout he had in the form of his hatchlings being destroyed, and we end up saving his scaly hide..indebting him to us this time around.

Yelinak dies from his wounds, resulting in Skyshrine/the good dragons having to choose/gain a new leader and losing much of their power and influence.

Rallos Zek is destroyed or usurped by his children (if he isn't before then) the gods in response cautiously step back their influence but do not completely withdraw like before.

Kerafyrm loses Theer's powers and is either re-imprisoned, vanishes from the face of Norrath, or loses so much of his power that he becomes not so different from the other dragons....humbling him greatly in the process.

Theer departs to places unknown.

The Awakened cult is crumbled, Kildrukaun and the others dead. Those left behind, have little choice but to either die, go into hiding, rejoin their fellow dragons as prisoners/refugees, or seek to gain favor with Lucan or Antonia..whose influences extend due to the vacuum.

Result: All the currently major interlopers are dealt with, and Norrath's future is finally, truly in our own hands...and we are no longer constantly burdened and in the shadow of those others.

I can't imagine a scenario where Kera goes down that doesn't somehow involve Veeshan. I predict a massive, futile fight where Kera is basically invulnerable, then Veeshan shows up, laughs, and destroys Kera's +1 amulet of immunity and vanishes.

Now vulnerable but still ludicrously strong, Kera has to be killed once and for all.

On the whole Avatar topic however, you can get the Thule twins in there somewhere can't you? Morell as the Mystic maybe? Terris as Coercer?
