I'm still messing with this, now when the launcher loads the green button says "Play" for a second and then switches to "Playing" and becomes unclickable.

You may need a DX9 update. EQII doesn't take advantage of the DX10 or DX11 libraries.

Give this update a shot. Once downloaded and run, it will prompt you on where to extract. A created folder on your desktop is best. Once extracted, open that folder and run the DXSETUP file to start the actual update.

[DX9] June 2010

I just noticed Fault Module Name: Secur32.dll

Got any security software running? Windows Firewall, any antivirus/malware/spyware programs, antiroot kits, 3rd party firewall/proxy software, anything like that at all? Even software packages from your ISP might contain security features.

It is very unusual to have a Secur32.dll crash.

As far as I know I've got the firewall down and the antivirus disabled. This is a little frustrating because I've only got a basic knowledge of computers. I've never had a problem installing or running any thing else. I've reinstalled the game a couple of the times from the disc, downloaded the full game and streamed the full game all with the same result.

Should I call support or something?

Open a support ticket and attach your MSINFO file. Once it's open you can give me the incident number and I'll review the error reporting.
