I have no interest in tanking, and frankly i dps/tank in rift currently. I have been playing a ranger in this game over 5 years and decided to dust off my sk (that has not seen the light of day since level 50 was max level).

My question is DPS as a sk using a two hander, i am not going to tank unless i have to as again i raid tank in rift. But i love my SK in eq 1 used a 2 hander except when i was wielding greenmist. I do not care about max dps out put on a character i am curious if i can get groups as a dps role instead of a tank role. I used the tank role and solo to get to 50 years ago but do not want to tank now with the character. I am actually going to redo points to remove the threat issue.

I enjoy wielding a two hand sword or axe as a lizzy its a lot of fun.

Thank you all.

You can use appearance slots to *look* as if you are using a 2hander whlst still maintain a 1Hander+Shield combination. As there are very few 2handers which are suppeirior to a sword+board combination once you achive the correct AA this is normally the prefred course of action.

As for being a DPS character on an SK..its "possible" but you will not be able to utilise everythgin a SK has or DPS as hard as you coudl if you were tanking. it would take grouping with an understanding group to *not* have you tank as even when holding back SKs generate a lot of threat
