So the issue I have is with losing sound in-game. I have sound on the character select screen, but when I log a character in, the sound goes out within 20 seconds. My options only show1) Miles fast 2D....2) Dolby surroundI have it set on Miles fast 2D, but like I said, after I log in I only hear sound for about 20 seconds, then nothing. If I go to options and switch it to Dolby, I get sound again for 20 seconds then nothing. Sound works fine for everything else I'm doing at the time, music, internet, etc... You can start by visiting your PC or motherboard manufacturers website and download/install the latest available drivers for your sound device. Looks like those are a few years old. Can't say with certainty this will fix your issue but its a place to start. Also, all input/output including audio is done through DirectX so let's make sure you have the latest revision of DX9. Download the DX9 file linked below and execute it. It will ask you where you want to extract it to. Create a folder on your desktop and select it. Once extracted, open that folder and execute the DXSETUP file to start the actual update.<a href="http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8109" target="_blank">[DX9] June 2010</a>

Thanks for the quick response.I checked for latest drivers and updated the DX9. Same problem...will mess with it more tonight

Did you raise your default sample rate in your sound device properties by chance? If you did, I do recommend resetting to default. This is done from the Sound controls, properties on the sound device you use, and the advanced tab. There is a restore defaults button there as well just in case.

...well it was the drivers. Apparantly MSI's "driver checker" doesn't really work. It said I had the lastest drivers, but when I manually checked, the lastest driver is only like one month old. Downloading that fixed the problem. Thanks for the help!Guess I'll just have to remember to manually check drivers than relying on a website to check for me.
