I'm not sure how to approach what is happening with my computer. About 2 months ago I started to notice extremely bad lag while playing eq2. My computer will almost completely freeze up for a second or two and then will unfreeze for a second then freeze back again. This will continue for about 1 to 5 minutes. Sometimes it doesn't happen again for about 3 hours, sometimes it will happen every 20 minutes. The only thing that I can think that could have caused it is that I had installed about the same time Lord of the Rings, bad mistake and game has since been removed. Not nearly as much fun. I have tried to bring up f11 while in game to see what is happening, but can not get the window to show. Tried using f10 to see if it was hidding behind another window, but still not there. Any ideas on where to start looking? Here is my dxdiag information to atleast get an idea. Any information would be great.

System Information------------------Time of this report:
You can start by visiting your PC or motherboard manufacturer's website to download the latest drivers available for your Intel display device.

Next, we can also update your DX9 to the latest revision. These two steps simply get you up to date and eliminate any issues caused by any missing features in your current DX9 revision/video drivers.

What you describe sounds like a heating issue to me but heating issues aren't as common on the integrated chipsets, they don't generate that much heat relatively speaking but if you have a means to check it I would do so. Your PC or motherboard manufacturer may have utilities available for that purpose.

Other than that everything looks alright. So I'll also include our standard instructions below on clearing your game settings and cache.

You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:

cache folder

eq2_recent.ini

eq2_default.ini

EverQuest2.exe

eq2.ini

As well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.ini

Stationname_characters.ini

To do this, please follow these directions:

1. First look for your EverQuest II Extended directory. You can find the default directory in (for Windows XP): C:Program FilesSonyEverQuest II (for Windows Vista/7): C:UsersPublicSony Online EntertainmentInstalled GamesEverQuest II

2. Click on MY COMPUTER and then proceed into local disk C:

3. Navigate your way to the default directory, or your chosen installation directory.

4. Next look for any files explained above and delete them.

5. Afterwards, please start EverQuest II to have these files re-downloaded by the patcher.

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.
