I cannot connect under xp, the laucher is the same than on my on my other pc with a single difference L it's wirtten plugin 4.33. Fire wall is off but there is this cryptical internet setting that is particular to window (i m a unix user).

This setting seem to allow explorer to do things or not.

It seems that you decided to base your launcher on web protocol used via explorer (terrible mistake since using anything designed by microsoft lead to troubles).

Can you tell me which of those cryptic options have to be enabled ?

Oups .... may be i found the issue ... possibly i destroyed explorer on my pc since anyone with a bit of sense uses firefox or chrome. I will check.

oups i checked the piece of crap is there.

I did copy my eq2 folder from my macbook (bootcamp +xp) onto a usb hard disk. I tried the launcher from the second pc, it does not connect. But eq2.exe works perfectly.

I would like to know how to fix the problem.

Note that the problem would not exist with proper design choice : why using explorer and horrible window fuzzy/risky undefined protocols to patch your game ?

A self contained patcher , using p2p and signed filesum would have been much better.

Could you include any errors you might be receiving? Is it just "Unable to connect"? Any numbered error?

Here's some instructions I just posted in another thread about a possible internet option setting. Also, our launchpad's use firefox libraries, albeit older ones.

Click Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced Tab > Scroll through the settings to the security section > UNCheck the option that reads "Do Not Save Encrypted Pages to Disk" and click Apply/OK.
